Why is anti- Rangers bile allowed but anti-sellick results in a slapped wrist?
Wayne, this thread has got nothing to do with Celtic (You give yourself away by referring to them as Sellick). Simple fact is that Rangers are living well beyond their means again and clearly haven't learnt the lesson. I suspect Coisty knows the game us up and wants out before the shit hits the fan.
Sweet baby Jeebers!! So, even after taking a 50% pay cut, Rangers were still paying their manager £375k a year to manage in the Scottish 4th, 3rd and 2nd divisions? Which is probably more than the turnover of the other teams in the Scottish 4th, 3rd and 2nd divisions put together! The world's gone mad...
Why wouldn't he though? He didn't choose the salary and then voluntarily took a cut.
How much cash has McCoist taken off Rangers over the years? The club has given him everything he has in life and he wants to take £750,000 for managing them in the lower leagues? Turn it up.
He seems a decent guy and has given the club great service but the sort of money he - and the players - have been earning for playing against minnows is an absolute piss take.
This seems to be half the problem with Rangers, nobody wants to face the reality of what they are facing - if you have massive debts and hugely reduced income then you have to cut your cloth accordingly.

If he doesn't take the full £750k who do you think will benefit ?

Er, that's a tough one. The club? The fans?
This is real money we are talking about here and every penny spent on exorbitant wages and bonuses for getting out of the Scottish Third Division has to be recouped.
The club has even been staying at four star hotels before away games less than 100 miles from Glasgow....
....if that's not wasting money then I don't know what is, if Rangers need to stay in a hotel before playing Forfar then God only knows how much trouble they are in.
I feel very sorry for the tens of thousands of Rangers fans who can do little more than watch as various snouts slurp ever more greedily at the carcass of their club - it should never have come to this.
There are a lot of Rangers fans hacked off with the way the club has been run in the years since administration & relegation.
They took on McCoist on c.£800k per annum and a host of players who should have been ashamed to be playing at the fourth tier of Scottish football, but who were happy to take the money. Rangers could have won that league with a mix of their youth and a couple of old heads. They didn't need to go out and splurge cash all over the place that they didn't have.
A £250k bonus for the FD, when the team win promotion from the third tier!! Incredible. He may have been worth it if he'd actually balanced the books, but there's no likelihood of that happening any time soon, if at all.
McCoist is now being shown as a limited ability coach and "legend" status will only ever get you so far.
"The wage budget has come down in recent seasons, although it remains the second highest in Scotland.
It cannot be significantly reduced from its level of around £6m because players are on contracts, so would need to be sold or paid off. There are few suitors for the current squad members, while players are reluctant to leave because they are unlikely to receive the same wages elsewhere."
In other words the club is lumbered with a load of players who aren't good enough to get a deal anywhere else but are on ludicrously high wages and never going to leave of their own accord.
Ally McCoist's salary is an amended version of the one he signed upon becoming manager of Rangers. At the time AM became manager of Rangers they were Scottish Champions, had competed in the previous seasons Champions League group stages, and were due to defend their title and compete in Champions League qualifiers. AM's initial salary would be based in part on this. AM had also given up lucrative TV work to concentrate on Rangers.
In the 13 months ending June '13 Rangers had revenue of £19,107,000, in the 12 months that followed revenue was £25,230,000. Rangers spent £7,800,000 and £6,500,000 on first team squad wages in those periods of time. Some of the money spent on wages will relate to players contracts which were agreed in more affluent times and then TUPE'd across.
Whilst it is arguable that the players have been overpaid and (this season) underperformed, the facts would appear to indicate any financial difficulties now affecting Rangers are not primarily due to player wages. If in the alternative you feel spending ~25% of income on squad wages (2014) is excessive, Charlton's likely higher percentage must be cause for concern.
Whilst Rangers like most clubs had debts prior to 2012 these appeared manageable. Rangers current problems seem arise following the takeover of the club by Craig Whyte. Whyte is now subject to criminal proceedings in relation to this takeover. Three employees of the administrators have been charged with fraudulent activity and attempting to pervert the course of justice. Also charged with fraudulent activity is an employee of a law firm.
Some accountants recently stated Rangers were receiving less than 8p in every pound spent on Rangers merchandise.
What has happened to Rangers could possibly happen to other clubs in the future. With the Rangers board refusing to sell to a wealthy individual who supports the club and has support of the fans the position could appear bleak. In this situation, supporters refusing to put further cash into the club may be the only way to resolve the matter.
If they have revenue of ~£25m and wages of ~£6m my question would have to be what the hell are they spending the other ~£19m (plus ~£8m operating losses) on and how on earth do they still need to raise a further £8m in order to stay afloat? Plus, the fact that they're spending £6m on wages for players they cannot sell indicates that the club should never have bought those players in the first place, or certainly not for the fees and wages that were offered.
The hilarity of them quadrupling the wage of average SPL players,to join them in tearing up a league that they would have walked with their youth team. The first sign of competition and the players and support are buckling. Might be best to jack it In now before a second liquidation and cringeworthy attempt to franchise their way back into the league with Airdries place
Ally McCoist remains as Rangers manager after a 40-minute meeting at Ibrox on Wednesday afternoon, according to Sky sources.
It is understood that only three people were present - non-executive director Derek Llambias, chairman of the football board Sandy Easdale and McCoist himself - for what were described as 'cordial discussions'.
Rangers confirmed on Monday that McCoist had handed in his resignation but that the notice period of his contract was 12 months.
The Ibrox board had also announced that McCoist's salary had reverted to £750,000 for the final year of his contract; the manager had taken a 50% pay cut in January 2014 as part of a cost-cutting exercise.

AFTER unsuccessfully resigning, Ally McCoist has admitted that he has no idea how he can stop being Rangers manager.
An emotional McCoist handed in his notice only to be informed by grinning colleagues that he’d received a pay rise and a better parking space.
He said: “It was always going to be a very tough decision to quit the club I love, but I presumed it would be tough emotionally not logistically.
“I’ve tried being Rangers manager and I’ve tried not being Rangers manager and the two things are essentially the same.
“Even death will be no escape, they will find a way to trap my spirit in a jar.”
