Assombolonga was signed for an undisclosed fee on a 4 year deal from Watford last summer which The Peterborough Chairman McAnthony described at the time as smashing the clubs previous transfer fee of £1.1m. This was funded out of the Dwight Gale proceeds from his £8.5m move to the Nigel's. Again he won't come cheap.

That Dwight Gayle purchase still looks expensive but not as bad as it did 2 weeks ago :-(
Agreed and to think he started out at Stansted before Dagenham and Redbridge signed him and loaned him out to Bishops Stortford then The Posh who eventually signed him. Don't know who the Posh scout is but he has an eye for a forward whereas since Paul Williams I can't think of a 'decent' lower league striker whom we have picked up. Hales was signed from Luton and Mendonca Grimsby but those clubs were of a similar status. No doubt someone will remind me :-)

Kasper Schmeichel is, apparently, out of contract (according to Transfermarkt)

    Straight swap for Hamer?

When it comes to lower league strikers, our speciality is expensive flops!

We haven't successfully picked up that many lower division players in any position really, other than Mark Kinsella. I don't count the L1 signings when we were down at that level ourselves!

Will Hoskins just been released by Brighton. These are the sort of players I expect us to be interested in.

Hoskins is better than anyone we have up front. I'd have him.

Could be useful if Hamer leaves.

He was good in our first season back in the Championship, he had the most assists in our team I believe.

He was brilliant for the end of the league 1 season and the first championship season, nobody can take that away from him. And I'll never forget his performance at Fulham in the FA cup, he was unbelievable.

I think you've got to be realistic. We will still have one of the lowest budgets in the league.

Pritchard was fantastic at giving the ball away. Sure he had good games. He was son of Powell. He played when really he should have been on the bench. Riga never saw fit to play him. Too lightweight when it mattered. He came as a goal scoring midfielder!!!
He worked hard but championship a step too far. Good luck Prichard.

Son of Powell. Hate this sort of daft comment. Decent player, did well for us, top assists season before last in the CHAMPIONSHIP FFS. Gave 100% every time! never hid! played with a smile on his face. Still gets snide remarks from some. Sad. If, as expected, he leaves, then good luck Pritch.

Always judge a player on how good he is by the team that he joins after leaving Charlton. Reckon Pritchard will end up at somewhere like Wycombe. I will stand corrected.

Would take him but we're all wasting our time scouting for players we want to see, be surprised if we get many if any at all from our own league or League One. Youth and overseas.
  • If Rotherham don't go up then Ben Pringle. Having a great game despite them being 1-0 down.

And as I type he whips in a great dead ball to get an assist. 1-1. I've got an eye for a player me ;-)

That is three great crosses now leading to two goals.

Would be great, but he has a lot of PL suitors; seems unlikely
