Hi, ooh aah hope it arrives soon - it is going on sale in Waterstones in Greenwich in a week's time but online orders should only take about a week at most. Hope you get it soon and enjoy. One consolation - at the rate we're losing players or not signing them up to new deals - it'll be an antique by the time you get it because there will be nobody left from the team of 2011/12
Just out of interest, is there any way to buy this book as an e-book for my Kindle without buying from Amazon? I am trying to boycott the tax avoiding bastards. Yes I know, I have a Kindle, but its three years old .

Should be doable.
I understand that if you have an e-reader from Barnes & Noble, you can purchase e-books from amazon and convert them so you can read them on your e-reader, therefore the reverse in theory should also be possible.

Thanks, I'll check it out. If anyone actually has experience of this with a Kindle, please let us know.
I have just finished The Charlton Men and have to say I enjoyed it immensely. Well done, Paul Breen. I'm a relative newcomer to the Charlton family and the season covered in the novel was my first as a season ticket holder. Great memories were re-lived off the pages of this first book by the Charlton resident and university manager. I think the long-time followers of the club will have an even deeper appreciation of the football side of the book. And there are lots of surprises too. I read it right after my three-hour lit exam and I have to say it stood up well and was just a good old read. Worth the sad fact I had to deal with Amazon to get it. Lots of you CL folks will love this story.
Hi, I have been away in Ireland for a couple of weeks so not been on here. Just catching up with all the news now. Thanks for the great feedback Blackheathcanuck - could you do me a favour and put this feedback on Amazon as well, if possible? I am hoping it will soon be in the club store and a couple more local places, so not just limited to Amazon for future readers as well. And Prague Addick, I will email the publishers again and check on whether the e-book version is available yet. It says on the website that it is, I think. Cheers, Paul

Good luck with getting it in the club shop. We can't even buy a programme in there. I'm looking forward to reading my copy by the pool in Turkey in August.
Just a bit of info re: The Charlton Men. I've had a couple of articles/mentions in different newspapers, which some of you might be interested in.
The Irish Times story gives some background about how I came here and settled in, and the LSBU one as well.
The Huddersfield story, I suppose, is appropriate since we've played them so many times now in the last couple of seasons they are like our biggest non-London rivals. I studied there for nine months and think I only saw the sun once, but saw their stadium every day since the university's right beside it. They'd a guy called Clyde Wijnhart there at the time who was a bit like what Jimmy Floyd was to Charlton from what I hear.
Anyway here are the articles if anyone's interested.
Cheers and enjoy the England game. After last night's refereeing I think there's no point anybody else turning up but anyway, let's hope for a few good matches. And a few surprises, and better referees who give decisions to the 'littler' teams.

I wonder if we will get a revamp of the shop.
Back end of the season they started to sell programmes in there, might even be able to purchase dvd's next season.
I was in there this week and they were doing a revamp. It is no longer owned by the club though. I guess Nike or somebody own it so they are responsible for stock. When I went in there were no books except for maybe the Derek Hales autobiography.
