I think I took a look in there once, and when I saw the price I was shocked.

Standard fish bar is very good.

The chip shop opposite Blackheath Station has changed hands and is not any good any more, but still expensive. The best ever were at the Ocean Breeze chippy near Surrey Docks station...long gone. Nearest to the Valley the one in the village is better than Seabay or the one up Church Lane.

I laughed at Mcdonalds too. How best chips ever and Mcdonalds can be in the same sentence is just beyond me.

    LOL

You start a thread on chips and of the hundreds and thousands of proper chippies of triple-cooked posh restaurants, you put up as your first offering McDonalds fries !!

You are rapidly becoming a favourite of mine on here Pauline....

    Here to please

The ones that I always remember were in my car delivery days. I was in a village in darkest W. Sussex at about 7 p.m waiting for a colleague to pick me up. I was cold, tired and starving but suddenly out the gloom one of those old mobile fish and chip vans appeared. It stopped by some house just down the road so I nipped down and bought a bag of chips. How they could produce such wonderful chips in the cramped conditions of that wreck of a van is beyond me : they were truly delicious.
