  • what a wanker. Supposed to be a professional footballer. Not really in the spirit of the game is it.
  • Prick
  • Am I the only one who thinks this is quality and really funny

Is there any difference to that and a keeper doing to someone taking a penalty
  • i think he is a bit dolly dimple old stephen taylor

The answer to your question is yes.
  • He has been taking lessons from Kevin Nolan. Saw Nolan do that, to a lesser extent, to Deano at the Valley.
  • Don't see any problem with this whatsoever. I am with you On this PAulie

  • Surprised no-one has done it before to be honest

I'd be more p'd off at the goalie's limpwristed dive to be honest.....hardly gonna clatter the post that one.
  • It's just a bit pathetic. He's like the really loud bloke on a stag do.
  • It had to be a tactic used by a pardew team didn't it...
  • If a Charlton player had done that and we scored from the free kick, most people would be wanting to praise him, not slag him off
  • Remember this is the bloke who acted like he'd been shot when he handled the ball and got sent off. Not the sharpest tool in the box.......

  • Ungentlemanly conduct. Yellow card simple.

  • Not sure what I make of his antics, but he was born in Greenwich did you know?

No worse than Bartlett's against Spurs when Deano tried to pretend it had hit his face.
  • Don't remember Grobeelar getting grief in European cup final.

  • I think I can recall a Birmingham player doing similar, but rather than all of that prattling around, he just simply stood in front of the GK! How the ref let the goal stand I'll never know.

If he's onside then it's a perfectly legit thing to do.
  • Thought it was funny myself

I can't remember who had taken the free kicks, but I can remember it was Radhi Jaidi standing in front of the GK and he was clearly offside both times he done it, once against Everton and I think he may have got away with it against Liverpool as well, both time resulted in a goal and both times he was clearly in an offside position.
  • This was ages ago, why is it being brought up now? Can't see a problem with it.

Its the old northern twitch.... You can catch it living up north.

  • Don't see a problem with it. The other team should have played him offside and then there would be an argument that he was 'active'.
  • He was prancing about while the ball is not in play.

However, if he was performing the same antics at the opposition crowd, then clearly he would be yellow carded.

On the same basis, antogonising and distracting behaviour in the face of the goalkeeper should be deemed unsporting conduct.

  • I'm led to below believe he's not the sharpest tool in the box. However, its not cheating and if it gains his team an advantage, then why not? Rather see this than a pathetice dive to gain a free kick or pen.
