Arsenal wanted him 2-3 seasons ago. He's not looked as solid to me over the last few seasons, but then he's played in a team that can't be bothered to defend from the front.
As soon as he left, it had a Pulis signing written all over it. In a team who'll defend in twos all over the park I'd bet he'll have a very good season if he stays fit.
Signing players from a relegated team isn't something I'd consider as great...too much potential baggage...far better to sign players used to winning...
Very good signing this. He'll have a team that will defend from the front, and a manager who will make him feel welcome and like a world beater. Shame they've got a decent team again this season, can see them surviving.
I like Hangeland, never had his head turned by any speculation and always gave his all for Fulham which is no mean feat considering how soulless the stadium and the atmosphere are. To be honest I don't really care who Palace sign; they're a league above us and don't affect us. If they go down I'll laugh but other than that I don't have the energy to worry about them

sounds like he was disappointed how he was told and who could blame him
Brede Hangeland has slammed Fulham after the club informed him of his release via email. I received such notification by e-mail with no representative from the club meeting with me at any point to discuss this matter. After six-and-a-half years of loyalty and hard work, and the last few years as captain, I am disappointed beyond words about this course of action.
Imagine getting a email to say u was sacked and nothing else
Felix Magath has just told Sky Sports he wanted Hangeland to stay and asked him to stay, which contradicts what Hangeland says, as you would expect.
but in this case I am more inclined to think Hangeland is telling the truth as he still had a year left on his contract, so surely if the player wanted to leave you would sell him, but instead the released him, that to me tells me it was not Hangeland's decision
