But do you feel it "in your water"?
That is the best litmus test to any of this unsubstantiated wibble...1 -
Sign him and the Angolan geezer. Keep Morro and Poyet and I will be a very happy man. Oh ye and sell Church for a Camel, or just a packet of Camel cigarettes.0

I saw Peeters on TV yesterday as a pundit for a Belgian channel so I doubt he is in the country to talk to any players0

Barnsley striker Chris O’Grady is happy staying at Oakwell even though Charlton Athletic wanted to sign him.
The Addicks made a bid for O’Grady and the player’s agent spoke to the London club. But speaking exclusively to The Star, O’Grady admits, even though he is open to offers for Championship football, his foreseeable future lies with the Reds.
“I’m professional, I always have been,” said O’Grady. “Charlton are the only team to have come in with a concrete offer for me, but I weighed up my options, discussed things with my wife and we decided it wasn’t the best move for us. We’re settled here. We moved to Sheffield about seven years ago and like living here.
“I’ve got three kids aged seven, six and three, so I had to consider them when I consider any move. But it didn’t feel right moving to Charlton although I was flattered with the interest.”
O’Grady was the Reds’ top scorer last season with 15 goals and it was widely-expected a string of clubs would be keen to secure his services.
His former club Rotherham United have been linked with a move for the striker, but O’Grady stressed that only Charlton have made any contact to try and sign him.
“Any player wants to play the best standard he can and, in an ideal world, that would have been playing for Barnsley in the Championship. But I’ve still got a year left on my contract and I will continue to do my best for the club. I’m looking forward to pre-season training.”
The Reds return to pre-season on Monday June 30 with a pre-season trip to Italy a fortnight later. However, it remains uncertain whether midfielder Jacob Mellis, who has yet to re-sign, will be a Reds’ player next season.1 -
Well that seems to have drawn a line under that0
-
No loyalty to the side that offered him a way out of Sheffield. He is dead to me now.12
-
Wouldn't of minded him but I think we can do better and will do better .0

Fair play to him. Not all about money and family happiness should feature large in any decision making.7
-
Ah shame. Family was the reason then, not the money. Fair enough.
Watch him sign for Brentford now ;-)4 -

Fair enough. Can't argue with that. Seemed the club tried to convince him but he's settled. Fair play0

Nice sentiment shooters but you have been completely deceived, just as COG intended.ShootersHillGuru said:Fair play to him. Not all about money and family happiness should feature large in any decision making.
More money and he would be here IMO
Glad we played hardball and found him out.
Its not what they do, its the way they do it. I always question the type of character that tries to cover up his true intentions by telling ..yeah Kermit, thats for you baby.4 -
The fact he hasn't had any other offers says what is needed to be said.2

Nothing wrong with that really, its a big upheaval to move a young family from Sheffield to London and he wants to make sure it is financially worthwhile for him to do so.Red God said:mart77 said:Barnsley striker Chris O’Grady is happy staying at Oakwell even though Charlton Athletic wanted to sign him.

Unless we want to make him that sort of offer you can't blame him for staying put and leaving next season on a freebie with a nice signing-on fee.2 -
In a way its nice to see this (If he stays at Barnsley this summer)...mart77 said:Barnsley striker Chris O’Grady is happy staying at Oakwell even though Charlton Athletic wanted to sign him.

After all the talk of Diego Poyet showing disloyalty (and Ross Lafayette leaving Welling the way he did for Luton) it is nice to see players showing a bit of loyalty to their clubs especially after that club has been relegated0 -
Lucky we were never really interested and RD simply used him to boost season ticket sales.
