Only saw the second half, but for those saying it was awful, I disagree and think you're being disrespectful. Thought Iran did well keeping things tight and looked good on the break. They deserve to be taken seriously as a hardworking team.

I think Iran should be delighted with that performance and result. They worked their socks off, Queiroz has got them well drilled and organised & you can see why they've had a few clean sheets.

The onus was on Nigeria, as the supposedly better team, but they were very poor and no-one worse than Mikel. So slow, poor passing, should be so much better than that.

Iran may have done ok, but it's all relative. Having seen every game so far, that was not great viewing

Hmm. Did pretty well, Reza, BBC showing his two efforts as their best chances. Technically limited but well organised team, nobody to really open up space for him, surprised how much they asked him to win things in the air - which generally he didn't. Suspect this game was his best chance to shine, but he certainly was not any kind of embarrassment. Whether he can come back and do it for us, will probably depend on his attitude.
  • I enjoyed that in a way, good for Iran, they played to their abilities and gave it a go for their brief few chances, Reza looked good in places, just did not get enough support from his teammates, something he should be used to after playing for us last season.

Felt like watching Charlton earlier in the season... Really hoping something would come off for Reza but it didn't happen. On the high balls he won some and also won free kicks as he was first to the ball inviting the defender to foul him.
Could see him scoring in the other game but Argentina and Bosnia are going to take these two apart because they have skill and management - premier league vs tonight's championship?
As someone posted CAFC get paid.... And we get the publicity... Reza looked ok... All part of moving forwards towards a club that pays its way.

I thought some of his play, backing in to a larger defender and killing high clearances on his foot was remeniscent of Super Clive. Other refs may not have penalised him so much. He is still young.

To me and I'm probably completely wrong , it doesn't feel like he really really wants to be at Charlton , almost as if the whole Charlton move was forced upon him
I believe there's a player in there but at the level he's at with us you need to be 100% on your game with heart and passion and I just haven't seen that
Doesn't seem to have the right attitude of being a team player , seems too much of an individual for a club like ours

I would like him to have done well but I'll be honest there wasn't a tenth of the excitement or pride i got seeing Claus Jensen come on against England in Japan where I'd have been happy for him to score 4 goals and knock us out

If Reza rattles in 30 goals next season he won't leave for massive dough, he will be swapped back to Standard Liege. And if he wasn't we wouldn't see the money. Roland the rat would just balance the scales a bit and keep pumping reserves our way .

I am surprised and very disappointed that so many of you regret/resent that we have got ourselves an excellent business man as our owner. We no longer face administration, and Roland has a plan to give us a young vibrant team playing football that is good to watch. Why don't you Big Spenders go and watch Leeds, Birmingham or Portsmouth ? Fill those glasses, and lets support the Club and cut out the insults towards a man who is investing in OUR team !

Reza did play better than most of his counter parts, and a few opposition too!

It is a complete disaster for our club that one of our players has been identified as having quality at the World Cup. If he scores loads of goals for us next year he will be sold from uder us. And then where will we be? In the playoff spots with no chance of going bust. It's a nightmare and Roland Rat should be ashamed for refusing to a: Buy players of proven quality when they are clearly identified as possibly available on this site, b: Promise not to sell players under any circumstances, even the ones who have been getting dogs abuse on this forum for the last 6 months, unless we change our minds c: Just give us his money but f*** off and leave us alone.

At what point did I say anything about spending money? Let alone big money!

I saw what happened last season, apart from astrid and one goal from reza allbeit a bloody important one I didn't see how using us as a dumping ground for this sodding network worked. And I'll have my opinion cheers

You obviously agree with being part of this experiment. I don't, I renewed my season the day the form came through the door and do valley gold in the hope of youth and vibrancy getting in the team. When one of those vibrant young players outgrows the club and is sold I was always happy the money went back into the club.

And what exciting football did rolys outcasts bring last season? I remember the jester of a keeper he tried to bully two managers into playing. And several others that both managers decided were not good enough and one centre forward we bought and then decided was not very good either.

Yeah I'm chuffed a weird Belgian businessman has procured our club as part of some sort of property portfolio
