I said words to that effect earlier but nobody listens to a bloody thing I say. We're a front for a Belgian-laundering operation.

Reza & Igor - two international strikers!
have we ever boasted such a possible partnership

    no wait
Reza, Igor & Churchie - THREE international strikers

    WOW !

Church now has to go. Too short. We only have strikers with a minimum 4 syllables in their surname.

Appears he was signed for €1M two years ago so a step up from Reza and Piotr. But like them he he is not an established championship striker. Big assumption but if announced like this then one hopes the deal will be done sooner rather than later. Failure to complete will pose a lot of questions about CAFC ability to close deals!
I posted elsewhere that if this goes through then we might only need a few more signings to get us through the first few months. With such a young team it is key to get a good start - let's see tomorrow what the opening ten games look like.

Wonder if we'll get Moussa as well? If we did I'm ashamed to say I'd start to feel a little bit excited. There's no point in being underwhelmed if you haven't been excited first.

Strange to see an announcement before the deal is finalised but from his interview comments this looks like a formality.

So, if Big Bob likes playing a target man with attacking wide midfielders, it looks like we will be playing with 2 up front. Igor isn't the big guy and i can't see us shelling out what must be decent money for another bench warmer. I wonder if Polish Pete or Churchy will be shown the door.

    I don't understand

Who is the target man then?
Maybe CoG, maybe someone else - but if Igor is only 5 foot 8 inches it suggests we will play alongside a big fella.

Or more likely I think he'll play as one of the wide players in a front 3.

Great we've made a signing. God knows what he's like though. All feels a bit Championship Manager to me. We need some players with experience of the Championship. Hopefully they're in the pipeline.

Fee rumoured to be in excess of 1 mill. Happy if true.

I find that very hard to believe. Where are these rumours from?
On what basis is it hard to believe?

Maybe we need some players who are better than the championship.

Tomorrow 9am always a pleasure looking forwards...

I believe it is essential we continue with mid-table form (which Riga delivered) in the first 10 games albeit with changes in personnel and by far the youngest squad in the division.
If we get to Christmas and nowhere near the bottom three then the point is proved:
CAFC average age 22 losing £3m a year...AFC Bournemouth average age 28 losing £15m... Which club has a future?!

I may be naive but why can players play in the championship only if they have played there before? Its a hard and good league but not fabulous.

As has been well documented we came 9th with a 1st division squad and then with a bit of decent tactical and leadership ability won bundles at the end of last season.

    Football's football.

FC Copenhagen's number 9, 16 goals in 44 apps, 22 year old Angolan international, interesting!

Didn't Polish Pete have a similar record for his club? Bit more confident with this one though if Bob already knows him. Plus, he's older and has played at a higher level than Pete.
Deemed worthy of starts in the Champions League against Galatasary an Real Madrid. Actual record last season was 13 in 29.

The comparison with Polish Pete is unfair as this guy has operated at a much higher level.
@RichCawleySLP: Vetokele came on in 90th minute of Champions League game at home to Real Madrid. Played 2nd half of 3-1 defeat to Galatasaray.
Oh dear. The stats website I looked at is obviously wrong then. Both games were listed as him having started.

    Edit*

BBC has him playing the whole game against Madrid and an unused sub against Galatasaray.

UEFA.com has him starting the final group game at home to Real Madrid and starting, but being substituted at half-time, against Galatasaray.

Quite enthusiastic about this in a "not sure why as I've never heard of the guy" sort of way. Mind you I was enthusiastic about Polish Pete! Hopefully the first signing of at least a handful.

It's far from a done deal . He hasnt agreed personal terms yet and you know how it went the last time we tried to agree terms with a striker.

But this time e himself has said its a hard decision to leave (Copenhagen) but its a good opportunity for him etc etc. I can't believe he as said that without some discussions having taken place over wages etc. I just believe they have jumped the gun so forcing us to put something out too. Will be done and dusted by midday tomorrow.

    As for the signing :

    Young and hungry
Knows Peeters and Bob must rate him highly
    Scores goals
    Not from network club

    What's not to like

Nothing thus far but I'm sure the the usual 'underwhelmed' brigade will tell us before too long.

Hope not. We bought Reza as a striker, played him wide and he was a fish out of water. Let's not make the same mistake again.

Sorry hadn't realised you'd already quoted a fee. The sum seems very relevant to the possible quality of the player though

FCK paid £880k for his services in 2012 and will no doubt want to recuperate that and then some to enable the move.

A fee of £1 mill for this guy is not totally unrealistic. I have seem him play on several occasions here in Denmark and can tell you he is the real deal.
