Thought it was exactly the same. Cut inside from the right and curled significantly from about 25 yards out or so. Both on the left foot.
Reza brought it down, span and curled it into the corner. Messi was outside the box, took a few touches and finished similarly. Not a carbon copy at all.
Always had faith in reza to be a great forward for us wrote off by so many far too early
I don't usually like gloating but I've been fighting Rezas corner for months. Play the bloke down the middle. I've been wrong plenty of times but I'm 100% certain that this boy could be special for us, especially at Chamipionship level. It's like hes repaid a bit of all the times I got called Reza's lover ha.
He was good, but so were Iran in general. Argentina were fortunate to win.
Obviously we aren't talking Becks versus Greece level of good, but in the context of the game he was superb. He was basically playing against the back 4 on his own, made up of Premier league and Champions league winners, with minimal service. He had a couple of chances that on another day could have gone in, but he was a constant reminder that Iran weren't gonna roll over
We love a trier at the Valley and this guy has work rate in abundance, isn't as weak as we all thought, is pretty pacey when he gets going and hes not short of technique and skill.
I think Bob will be rubbing his hands together after today.

If he can be physical in that game, what was it he thought made the Championship the place to constantly dive in?
Hope he comes back from the World Cup keen to go and we reap the benefits but, as hard as he tried today and as well as he played he still missed both opportunities that came his way so there were similarities to last season and I would still be very worried if he was our main 'goal getter' going into the season.
Reza is the best player for Iran against a defense of Zabaleta, Garay and Mascherano and someone is still negative.
He's not exactly going to be gifted with simple goalscoring opportunities against those 3. A championship defense is slower, more prone to errors and poorer marking.

That Fulham bloke is their best player.
He wasn't yesterday
I don't think Reza was either. They shut out Messi, Aguero, Higuain et al for 90 minutes, that doesn't happen if your single best performance is from a scoreless forward. Like the other 10 Reza was excellent yesterday but stood out from the rest because he was the lone striker, we had our Charlton glasses on, and a shit commentator singled him out.
Not trying to be negative, I was still very impressed!
I thought their best players yesterday were the keeper, the #4 and the #7. Goalkeeper didn't put a foot wrong all day; A commanding centre back who kept Aguero quiet all game and did just as well with Palacio when he came on; and a tidy right/centre mid with a bit of pace, plenty of skill and a decent tackle.
Dejagah and Reza were pretty good too though. Overall I thought they had the better chances, never really looked troubled and deserved to at least draw if not win. Messi's bit of brilliance was quite literally the only bit of difference between the sides.
Don't get all this bollox negativnes about him Hopefully a good world cup will bring him back to us a better and More confident player which can only be a good thing surely? So lets get behind the lad and stop being so negative you knobheads
