Your first away game

24th January 1981, Fulham in the FA Cup. If not the first certainly would have one of the very early ones.0
-
I can't exactly remember my first away game but it was likely Rotherham, Barnsley or Middlesborough away back in 1982 or 3.

0-1 loss to West Brom in the FA Cup 19900
-
Wimbledon away 19850

Brighton at the Goldstone in the '90/91 season. Took an early lead, went 3 1 down and a Garth Crooks consolation couldn't stop us sliding to our tenth straight defeat. 300 away games later and I still have vivid memories of the day. A rare thing to be an away fan on an open side terrace. Good times.0

1976 ish...away to Wolves in the cup. we took about 10,000. I had my scarf nicked as soon as i arrived in Wolves station.0

Think that Fulham game was my first away - so impressed when the first pub (too young to even try getting served) was packed to the rafters with our lotE-cafc said:Fulham away 1976-77 season. 1.1 draw
First away outside London was Bristol Rovers 5-5 draw November 1978. Went on the Lewis coaches, what a game!1 -

I went to a couple but don't remember them at all.
First I went to on my own without family. MK Dons 20090 -
Can't remember exactly, but it was probably at the old Den some time in the mid 60's0

Full Members Cup final vs Blackburn 1987. After that West Ham FA Cup. Jan 1988. Lost 2-0

The Kings Arms I think it is? All the older lot getting drunk and everyone having a good old sing song and then walking to the ground together. Those were the days. Always liked going to Fulham away, especially the FA Cup game 1980..........2.1 win.sunbury-addick said:

December 1984 Oxford United away we lost 5-0 and it was as cold as you like , Vince offered me £5 for my "silk" Charlton scarf which was a weeks paper round back then but I refused
Shit away following and shit result ....... I was Addickted to it !
One of the best things of modern football is the away numbers being confirmed , cuts out all the bullshit , I like to deal in facts3 -
John Aldridge hat-trick day?0
-
Millwall away at the old Den, February 1992. Lost 1-0. Didn't go to the 2-0 victory in the snow, so still waiting to see my first competitive away victory over HMP Bermondsey, only 22 and a half years on.0
-
Bristol City away 1-0 victory (Robert Lee), 1st December 19900
-
Me too, if I remember George Best and Rodney Marsh played for Fulham. My Dad would only let me go if we sat in the stand. That lasted about 20 mins before we were on the terraces.E-cafc said:Fulham away 1976-77 season. 1.1 draw

As for that day at Eastville. I went club coaches with two mates, so with us three and you that about it is it not? Away days with Charlton in the late 70's could be a very lonely experience, averaged about 250 anywhere outside London?0 -
I can remember there were 3 Lewis coaches that left the pick up point in Woolwich(Woolwich Tex House)that day. I reckon there were about 300-400 there what with the supporters club and the older mob who went down by train. It was a bit like Chelsea in terms of being so far away from the pitch at Eastville as it was a speedway stadium as well.0

Southend away 95 or 96. 1 V 1 draw with Leaburn scoring. I think Steve Brown may even had to go in goal.0

I was on one of those coaches. 5-5 with 20 minutes to go too.E-cafc said:I can remember there were 3 Lewis coaches that left the pick up point in Woolwich(Woolwich Tex House)that day. The Guvnor rung a bell for `happy hour' and bedlam broke out.0 -
remember going to Cambridge and Harlow away (cup), both in 1980 I reckon, would have to ask my old man if there were any before that0
-
Harlow away was an interesting day. In the pub beforehand, during and after the game.0
-
Pretty sure this isn't my first, but the first I actually remember was Bristol City away 1994 5th round FA Cup.0
-
Tottenham vs Charlton 06/07, we lost 5-11
-
Black Sabbath - won't be forgetting that one in a hurry!3
-
Millwall Reserves. I went with a couple of friends from school. I think we lost 4-3.0

We got battered for most of the match, I think Hales got sent off. Dickenson put in a last minute cross that a defender put between the keepers legs. Didn't even make the back of the net, it was very muddy. Away end was packed and the stand began to fall apart, remember planks of wood being passed down to the front.</blockquopaulbaconsarnie said:Colchester away in the cup. Can't remember what year but was early 80s.
We won 1-0 with an own goal I think.
I went to that game with my Dad, in the car. He rear ended a car (oooerr) on the way back, a Charlton fan, who lived on the same estate as us. Seemed pretty amazing at the time.0
