Lee Clark to take over, how many wins did he have in the same timescale? 3

Blackpool doomed. Hold hour head high Jose and take a pay-off - you deserve it for suffering that prick of a Chairman.

Reckon Jose will be skipping with total joy to be out of there.

Oyston is the con man here having bled his club dry financially. Cart horses were all that could be afforded. Total basket case of a football club. Makes Leeds and Cellini look relatively normal.

Will be interesting to see who gets appointed and if they can do anything to turn it around. If they get beyond 15 points by the end of the season I'll be surprised.

You left out that the guy on the forum's name is Karl Oyston.

See the fans are gutted he left

I still wish we appointed him as the football under him was much better and I felt he deserved a crack with the resources coming in this year on transfers, even though I am happy with Peeters at the moment

When he left Blackpool to go to the Venky circus (at the time), it was clear that Blackpool were in trouble.

I've got to question Riga's judgement in going there in the first place. It was never going to work out.

It's been so long that it's back in fashion.

Riga (and Jackson) turned it around almost immediately - was it no goals conceded in the first three games? He then went on to coach goals out of Sordell and Harriott which let's face it was a bleeding miracle given what we had seen and what we had been led to believe.
I have been surprised Riga hasn't been linked with jobs coming up and honestly thought he would jump ship before getting the ol' tin tack. I suspect he has the contacts and reputation to secure another role and hope the Blackpool five months(!) hasn't damaged him at all.
The owners up there are clearly taking the piss taking money out of the club and only funding three subs for Riga's first game. They destroyed their season before it started and have destroyed any value left at the club.
As @operationpig‌ states, a lot of managers going but they are all at clubs who perceive they are underperforming for the budget spent. In Blackpool case they could only ever expect 24th.

Lucky at the valley. Will fail everywhere he goes. My opinion, but I'm confident his time at Charlton will be the peak of his career. Happy to give £250 to the upbeats as soon as Im proven wrong....lucky talentless man.

I was until someone dressed him up in belgiun themed clothes. I couldn't stop laughing for days

I liked Jose, and wish him well. The Blackpool job was always a poisoned chalice and he's better off out of it.

Based on what I saw at the end of last season and what I've seen at the start or this season, Jose did a great job man managing to keep the squad pulling in the right direction when it could easily have fractured and fragmented into cliques post Powell. However, I don't believe he had a huge influence on improving our results, I think the big difference there was Poyet and I believe his absence from the midfield this season is almost as noticeable as it was at the start of last season.

Poyet's combined attributes of tackling prowess, efficient passing and game reading ability coupled with his strong form allowed us to dominate midfields in a number of games last season. Buyens has shown flashes of potential, but as yet this season whether it's been Jacko/Cousins or Buyens in the middle, we've struggle to win the midfield battle and have found ourselves under the kosh a lot as a result. Thanks to a bit of X-Factor from George and Igor we have still nicked a few results, but had we had last season's strike force we'd have been bang in trouble right now, imho. I suspect BBBB would have matched or bettered Riga's performance with the same squad and I suspect we'd be doing even better than we are now if Poyet had chosen to stay. Had Powell been allowed/chosen to pick Poyet more I suspect he too would have turned our form around.

Poyet was quality? So good he's been used once at West Ham. Yoni and Johann wouldn't be Upton Park bench warmers.

He's bound to get a chance at Leeds for a month or so at some point this season.

As Andy Warhol said, in the future everyone will be manager of Leeds United for 15 minutes.

Just read the thread, great comments and love for Riga. That's two Championship clubs in less than a year and both sets of fans love him.

For those thinking he is a talentless lucky manager, its well better than a talented unlucky manager

At least Jose Riga will get a contract payment in full. That mad chairman was probably trying to get Jose to resign and avoid a contract pay out.

Don't think Oyston is mad, just a greedy, selfish arsehole.

Why has someone flagged this? While I don't agree with it, it's hardly offensive. Jose is that you?

What a basket case of a Club !

Jose is an honourable, honest man & as such will always win over the supporters of any Club he manages - and deservedly so.

I'm sure his thoughts will be with the Tangerines' fans as he, presumably returns to Belgium - I would expect nothing less.

Hopefully he will be gainfully employed again before too long, with the full backing of an owner who appreciates his merits & doesn't treat him like the donkey deposits on Blackpool beach.

Every best wish for your future, Jose.
