  • Talking about appealing red cards...

Am I correct in thinking that Osei Sankofa got given an extra game ban, as we appealed it, deemed as frivolous or something??

If that is the case, has any other player been given an extra game?
  • I forgot Ben thatcher. But he played for us as well. Thug.
  • You'll deffo not go down and I expect us to be within a few points of each other at the end of the season , not sure who'll come out on top
Saying that the whole league ,Blackpool apart , will be within a few points of each other!

Yeah agree. It's impossible to call this league, anyone can beat anyone.
Except for Charlton beating Millwall. It just doesn't happen but we kid ourselves every year that it will. Then the team bottle it. Once again, I'm hoping this year is different. Maybe having Bob in our camp will be an advantage to us. Looking forward to seeing Bikey vs Shittu as well.

A few comments on here saying how fans are looking forward to seeing Bikey V. Shittu.
Got to be honest, I'm more excited to see Igor V. Shittu.

    That as well.

This is my Rhodesian Ridgeback, bred to hunt lions. I won't be taking him to the game though, he could make it to one sided.image<img

There is usually a fair few dogs amongst the millwall contingent.
  • Not as good looking as this one and he doesn't wear a flat cap.
  • This fixture is so bad for us I've been absolutely buzzing with the last two away 0-0 games, sad I know.
As for the fixture in general, me and all my mates, half Millwall half Charlton meet for beers and usually end out till all hours etc, it would be nice to be on the other end of the gloating this season, I don't care how, they can have 20 shots on target and 90% possession and we win 1-0 with a freak own goal, that'll do nicely. But please, if there is a God, let this be it.

Millwall wannabe hatchet men that u can think of. In my lifetime.
Kitchener cripps hurlock Stevens dunne Craig. Shit players that could kick players. How many Charlton players can you think off the top of your head fall into that remit.

Aliadière was given an extra match for Middlesbrough's appeal when he 'slapped' someone in the face

If by 'hatchet men' you mean dirty players, well Kitch and Cripps were before my time (well, would've seen them but too young to remember) but my Dad tells Kitch was never dirty. Cripps was a hard player but could play as well. Stevens was hard but again, I wouldn't say he was a dirty player. What these players had in common and what gave them their legendary status at Millwall is they were all what you'd call 110 percenters. always gave their all, chasing down lost causes, battling for the team, for the whole 90 minutes, right until the final whistle, despite what the score was. And between them building up a huge amount of appearances for the club.
Dunne and Craig weren't particularly legendary players down Millwall and always divided opinion amongst our support.
Hurlock agreed could be a bit of a bastard sometimes, but people under estimated how good a footballer he actually was, and I think his reputation masked that to a degree. You don't get to play for England B and sign for Glasgow Rangers because you're a hard player alone.
Then there were the genuinely dirty players you failed to mention. Pat van den Howe, Muscat, Ben Thatcher. All who have played for us but have failed to make legendary status because they were just being dirty for sake of it. Muscat is just an animal. Wish he'd never played for us.
Then there's the likes of Gordon Hill, Neil Harris, Tim Cahill, Sheringham (before he went to west ham) who all achieved legendary status at Millwall for their footballing abilities alone.
My point is we love a hard player at Millwall who gives his all for the club and fans but we love our footballers with skill too. We're a mixed bunch down the Den.
  • Sorry, phones gone a bit do lally.
  • What you have a job millwall fan ? And your not at home watching Jeremy Kyle and buffing up your reebok classics.

Good post to be fair. You can be hard and not play for the shirt and that won't ingratiate you into the hearts of the fans. The likes of Muscat were absolute scum, and just happened to play for a club who's fans have a bad reputation, so I would automatically assume he would be loved at the Den.

Yet obviously even some Millwall fans just recognise that he was a head case

Yeah, he was far from loved at Millwall. There's being a hard no nonsense player, and then there's just being a nasty c***. With Muscat he was the latter, and no one really warmed to him at Millwall. The odd nutter obviously did but the vast majority didn't have a lot of time for him. He was never going to become a legend down there. Or even close.
  • Shame muscats mrs was at it. Couldn't have happened to a nicer fella.

Got my own little business mate. Try and get other people doing the majority of the work though, hence why I can surf the net when I fancy it. No reebok classics, more of an Adidas man. But got to admit, live a bit of Jezza. Crack me up the inbreds on there.
  • Give me your stereotype of a millwall fan.
  • Tend to agree a bit with M F Cripps was a nice bloke speicially when he played for us, Kitch, well he wern't that good, good defender thats about it, but stevens, thatcher, muscat, V D H, (if you've all had mandy clap your hands) were there just to hurt people, I cant think of one defender for Charlton since around 1954 I can say that about, cept maybe Setters when we signed him from Leeds, but by then he cauldnt stop a pig in a passage that would go down that road..
  • I always write the fixtures on a large calendar in our kitchen, I can't bring myself to write their name on it, I just put M******l.
  • Red card upheld.
  • This picture shows when the actual tackle was made it was one footed and 50/50.
    Poor decision by the FA.

We turned it into a public lavatory.

    Great to hear.

  • Oh god is it that time again. Every bloody flat cap cab driver within 20 miles and especially Eltham, suddenly has had more fights than Lennox Bloody Lewis, and is a face from the old days. "That Panorama programme that's me sitting 3 rows behind Harry the Dog, that fight with Spurs down the Vally first in I was ! "

It's all so tedious, and then to ice their bloody cake, every bloody time, we send out 11 players who roll over and give up from the off. I,ll be there but will I enjoy it, will I heck as like !
