0-0 in first game in charge last night against Deportivo on a soaking wet night in A Coruña. Real Sociedad are in 14th place but just one point above the relagation zone with some of their rivals playing today and tomorrow. Could be a long and tough season for Moyes.

Is there any other sort of night there? Rains more in Galicia than it does in bloody Lancashire!
I suppor Deportivo, so I was following last weeks match closely. I don't think Moyes will be in a relegation battle (uklike my Depor) but mid table annonimity may beckon. Goodish result last night.
First defeat for Moyes at Real Sociedad tonight, 4-0 away to Villarreal. Looking forward to the next press conference to see how his counting is going!
Feel for Moyes a bit. The blokes a decent manager but he's been made into a bit of a parody on Social Media. Think he would do a good job at somewhere like Swansea if Monk gets sacked.

Not an instant impact manager - I think any club that gives him a reasonable amount of time would probably reap the rewards. Louis Van Gaal has spent an absolute fortune proving that Moyes wasn't actually doing that bad a job at United, considering he got virtually no backing in the transfer market.

If I was a Swansea fan I would definitely rather keep Monk.

He was rubbish. Yes the squad wasn't as good as made out - ageing defence, people like Smalling and Jones not ready to step up, but he cancelled deals for Garay and Thiago, faffed on Herrera so long it fell through, concentrated on singing Baines and Fellaini as if they were world beaters, and virtually begged a declining Rooney to stay and sign a £300k a week contract when it was a good chance to cash in on him and get Mata as part of the deal 6 months earlier.
Then played dull, defence minded football (which LVG is doing too) with a team used to counter attacking at pace.
Would have been slated a lot more by the press if he wasn't a British manager.
The naivety of Ed Woodward in the transfer market that summer didn't help him, admittedly.
A lot of the media coverage here has focused on his lack of effort/interest in speaking Spanish in training or press conferences (no one would expect him to speak Basque). He never really integrated into the culture but I am sure he enjoyed some good food and golf.

He'd be totally wrong for Swansea, they've consistently chosen managers who play a passing style
Agree with MrLargo, strikes me as a manager in it for the long term who will build with careful acquisitions slowly. Bit like Curbs in that way. The 2 clubs he went to don't really have that outlook (not many do nowadays). Be interesting to see where he ends up next.
problem for someone like Moyes is that chairman are so impatient these days. They demand instant results and I agree with the comments on here, Moyes needs a couple of years to get a club going. Prem clubs just want results and even a few champ clubs are chucking money to get promoted. I think Swansea will go back for Rodgers if they sack Monk, but could see Newcastle sacking McClaren and going in for Moyes.
Amazed by his negative comments yesterday just 2 games into the season.
Asked about supporters fearing another relegation struggle, he said: "Well, they would probably be right.
"That's where they've been every other year for the last four years, so why would it suddenly change?"
Moyes added: "I don't think you can hide the facts. People will be flat because they are hoping that something is going to dramatically change, it can't dramatically change, it can't."
Well that's certainly going to lift morale around the club and get fans on your side isn't it David?!

Had a massive £2.50 on them before kick off at 9/1
Gone. Just too late for the Villa job, if he wanted it!
