Kate Bush

Lived in and around Bexleyheath for a big chunk of my life, didn't realise till last night that Kate Bush was born in Bexleyheath (always had Blackheath in my head - guess she lived there).

As far as I can work out - most famous person born in Bexleyheath is her ?

Sure she went to the same school as my mum.

Haven't a clue what it was called, but if anyone can help, I think it was near Bostall Heath Hospice (which is where she died in a twist of fate) and it was a catholic one with nuns etc.

Yes, he lived in Parkwood road off Hurst Road. The car dealers would be where the bus stops are opposite Argos.

My mum also went to that school, as Curb It days, St Joesephs at the top of Knee Hill. Angela Rippon is another former pupil. But my mum was there before Kate Bush.

Sounds like the one that became part of erith college. I studied my a levels at the same place.

That's right. The school amalgamated with St Marys in Sidcup and the buildings were later used as part of Erith College. I think it's all flats now.

She went to my college, Bexley College.

Apparently the place was haunted and that's where she got the idea for Wuthering Heights.

Can I ask, and I don't mean to cause any offence, but what is it about this woman that makes everyone so consumed. I'm not having a pop at her music, music is an individual taste. But I just don't understand the level of hype.

She seems like one of those artists that could do a gig that involves her just on the mic singing "no one likes us, we are Millwall from the den" and NME would be falling over themselves to say stuff like 'epic journey to the soul of a master' or some bollocks like that

I genuinely don't know why every time she has a tour or people talk of her she seems to be positioned as a musical goddess.

Again this isn't having a pop, I like one of her songs that got played on extras. I just want to understand why the hype.
