Wow... didn't know they had a new album coming out. I used to be a HUGE fan back when I was in the university. Bloodflowers was the first album of theirs I listened to and it was sort of an introduction to rock music for me. I bought the DVD of their Trilogy live show in Berlin and watched it God knows how many times. Bloodflowers, Disintegration, Wish and Pornography were my favourite Cure albums but I really loved them all.
A fellow Addick went to see a low key gig they did in (I think) east London a couple of weeks ago. He said they did all the new album and the hits, and were brilliant.

They live streamed it on Nov 1st. First hour they played the new album in its entirety, went off for 10 mins, returned, played another hour of tracks around the Disintegration period, went off for another 10 mins, returned, then played a third hour of earlier period tracks and a few of their more pop friendly ones. I've watched this/had it playing in the back ground all the way through about five times now. It's absolutely fantastic, from start to finish. My personal favourite section is the second hour, which is fucking epic.

Thanks for posting this, wow knew nothing about this gig, wish I could have been there. If anyone is interested I recently bought Psychedelic Furs album Made Of Rain recently, released 4 years ago & their first album in 31 years, It's brilliant probably as good as all they did in the 80s/90s, if you were into them then now you need this album.

Just as a matter of interest how did you find out about this gig, I didn't see it mentioned anywhere
I was in the presale ballot for The Troxy gig, but missed out. Tickets were sold out immediately, as I was logged in and ready to purchase an hour before.
Sounds similar to Madness a few months ago. Launched the new album at Koko in Camden. Played the new album for the first hour. One “fan” shouted out asking where all the hits were. Suggs stopped the gig to point out to him that he had bought a ticket for an album launch 🤦🏻♂️😂
They did then go off for a few minutes and then came back and played all the hits. Brilliant night.

From Cure social media I think...they announced a 'night at the BBC' (1 hour on 6music and then same again on R2/iplayer) for the 31st Oct and then the Troxy gig on 1st Nov. I tried for BBC tickets for the live R2 performance and didn't get lucky...
@TelMc32 I have no idea how I got them... I excused myself from a work mtg at 2.58pm to 'take a call', logged in to Dice and then as soon as they went live I hit 'buy now' and got two...just very lucky I guess. I did hear that after the initial rush (all gone in a matter of seconds), that more became available about 15 mins later when the system worked through all the sales etc...
