If their strikers have any pace they will win 4 or 5.

We will respond by bringing in someone from the network and some young, cheap loanee.

    I'm afraid it's gonna be a 0-5 again.

We need 4 or 5 championship savvy players. So far we've brought in a U21 player from Spurs with no real experience. Great. It still looks a shambles and I ain't wasting my hard-earned on another fruitless journey. Live FA cup matches on the box for me.

Luzon likes the long ball game, just right for Igor and up against a good British manager
    4-0 to Wolves

    Do you mean rugby ?

Apparently Wolves must beware of 'the new boss bounce' ………if only

Cant see anything but a defeat here...no manager/head coach as we move towards the end of the week, apparently players upset by who has been chosen to take over, no additions to the squad other than Spurs loanee (wish him well however). If we get out of there at 5 pm with just a 2-0 loss then we will be lucky...never felt so depressed about CAFC in years......however I'm back to do the match thread which will start at 2 pm........and no matter what I'll stay with the club forever!! So COYR's please prove me 100% wrong!!!
  • Top of the form table vs bottom of the form table. Can we change the title of the the thread to 3pm KICK ARSE?

More pain, 3-0 to them. We plummet even further towards certain Relegation.

Yeah I think that only works when all the players don't hate the manager

If the players don't respond then I reckon we're going down.
    But they will. 1-1.

If it cheers anyone up, my Wolves supporting mate is terrified that after a 0-5 defeat and with a new manager appointed we would see a major bounce back.

Told him not to worry himself.

2-0 home win with Wolves never out of 2nd gear is as optimistic as I can get. Just hope they are gentle with us.

SPOT THE BALL will position it's camera behind the Charlton goal.

Charlton are unique in British footballing terms as being the major exponent of "the new boss phutt"!
  • Another shambolic display which, in turn, will lead to even more pissed off supporters swerving the Rotherham game next week.

4-1 wolves. We take the lead only for wolves to equalise before halftime. 2nd half we hold out to the 65th minute until the flood gates open.

2-0 Wolves and still no work permit.
  • Gomez to start in the middle with TBH please and prove himself to be the new Rufus.

I dont think they are much better than us but if we go a goal down early it will be another convincing away defeat.
  • This game is the ultimate home banker, but thinking back to occasions when we've suffered shock reverses (e.g. the defeat against Swindon in 2000/01), Wolves will hit the woodwork several time, miss a penalty and have a good goal disallowed for offside, allowing us to win 1-0 from a deflected Rhoys Wiggins shot.

1-1, good point but a terrible game.

The questions in my mind are:

What has changed since our last outing? Answer: not much as far as I can tell.

Who within the current setup, will have been able to turn things round and get the players motivated for this week's game? Answer: reading the comments above and elsewhere, not Luzon and not JJ, so probably nobody.

Given the above, will we see a gritty, determined, team performance from the lads in red? Answer: unlikely.

Conclusion: looks like another (heavy) defeat.
  • Now that the work permit has finally granted, I'd like to change my prediction above (6-1 to Wolves).

New Prediction - 8-0 to Wolves

In the recent past this is just the kind of game where we'd have rolled our sleeves up, taken the sting out of them, and maybe even gone on to grind out a gritty 1-0. But that was then. I so hope I'm wrong but just cannot envisage anything other than defeat, even if the players do collectively get stuck in early on. If goings on at Sparrows Lane are as shambolic as they appear, it'll take an almost super-human effort for the players to rise above it for long enough, especially if Wolves score first. They're well rewarded and it's their job etc. etc. but sometimes things transpire that sap everyone's mental energy. Even a determined improvement on last week will probably just mean a less humiliating defeat; 2-0.

If we go with a high line they'll batter us.

If, however, we play all of our best players in their best positions and play a tight, well rounded game, they'll batter us.

    2-0 Wolves. A comfortable one.
