Some on here laughed at me at the time, but only a year or so ago I said he was a poor mans Joe Aribo.
I still stand by that.
A sort of typical modern day footballer for me. Athletic with an engine. Will never have the talent to take him past lower echelons of the Champ. Bad luck with injuries and always gave it his all. May still be able to do a job in the championship, but night and day when you compare him to someone like Aribo. Aribo has that touch, that ability to look comfortable on the ball. Cousins never really struck me as someone who was comfortable with the ball, and his touch always seemed a bit awry
That's often when you get defender converted into a midfielder, though.
But he has been played for a reason: hard running, energetic, combative ballwinner, to give the midfield drive and physicality. They are there to do a job. Like Darren Pratley.
Best teamed with a creative midfielder, like Aribo.
I think it's all decent, didn't that Davies make team of the season last season? Lindsay is the worst of Barnsleys centre back pairing (behind Pinnock all their fans will say) but still rated, Cousina we all know about him, Powell is a risk, big wages and a bit of a sick note and even though Gregory is Millwall his record speaks for itself, most shrewd business out of the lot imo.
Nothing to be wowed by but definitely decent, Stoke should have a better season this time around
good business .. Gregory and Powell especially are top class Championship players .. we'll find out properly on August 10th
Notwithstanding £35million of parachute money for this season. Stoke are obviously tightening their belts financially. The arrival of Adam Davies certainly confirms the departure of Jack Butland for a sizeable fee.
Jordan Cousins should be a decent squad player over a gruelling 46 game league season, but his wage requirements are obviously outside our budget (like pretty well all established players) and we have other priorities.
A blow for Millwall losing Gregory (although they’ve known about it for a long time), plus I think that Harris was looking to unload Tom Elliot. Very hard to find decent front men.
We are gonna top that with Oztumer, Lockyer, Eaves, Thompson and Williams on the same day, just you watch
Who's Thompson?
Nathan Thompson (Portsmouth can play CB and RB); hasnt been actually linked anywhere though
We definitely need someone like that. I was wondering at what point does Bow go back to Roland and say he just can't build a squad on his pathetic budget, and we'd not be competitive and Roland will look an even bigger cnut?

At which point I imagine that Roland will just shrug his shoulders and say tough
He'll probably blame Bowyer for the tight transfer budget now
i.e. Lee demanded a bigger wage to stay as Manager, that money will have come from the player budget I bet
I don’t think any of us will underestimate Roland’s capacity for further eccentric behaviour, given his absurd track record. He’s also only likely to get worse as he become increasingly frayed by the long-running takeover soap opera and the unwillingness of the various parties (both real and imagined) to pay (in his mind) his perfectly reasonable purchase price.

Madness
2 of those players from Barnsley, keeper Davies on a free and Lindsay for £2m.
Powell from Wigan, Cousins from QPR, Gregory from Millwall though

Lose Pennock and Moore and they'll be in just as much trouble as us

The fact that Jones and Hart will utilise him where he played for our Academy but not actually where he's been playing for Charlton or QPR
Makes me think he'll be played at Centre-Back as whenever he played for us it was either DM or RB
Quite possibly the principle reason Cousins signed for Stoke, rather than elsewhere.
