Seed was clearly a brilliant manager, but was he progressive? I think he was in some aspects possibly, but not in the same way as Chapman was at Arsenal say.

    Move on.
  • I was confident enough before the game to back us in an accumulator bet. I had a feeling we'd play two up front and that combined with the thought we have to win sometime was what made me add Charlton to my bet. I don't usually include Charlton in any betting. I also brought my daughter along (who loved it), so perhaps she's the lucky mascot!
When the third great goal went in, cue another bouncy celebration and a few man hugs, my mate's mobile phone connected sharply with my mouth and knocked half a tooth out. So I'll have a few reminders about this particular game.

Not the old Seed v Chapman debate.

We did that to death back in the days of the Charlton Life Ham Radio group.

Someone in the club has told me the coaches are very impressed with Luzon. If we assume he wasn't in charge for Watford, his record is good with only late goals stopping it being great. W1 D2 L1 but could have quite easily been W2 D2 L0. Man deserves a break.

Hopefully not the same person who made up that Rufus was doing the knowledge !!
He has. You just don't know it.

As far as Luzon is concerned, I was unsure about what he had to offer, but on Saturday he got two important things spot on. He picked the right team, and got the tactics absolutely right. Congratulations to my colleagues in the Upper North as well, they gave us the best atmosphere of this season. Co-incidence ?

Jesus. You must be a stalker. You'll be pointing out soon I said we would win 3-1 and we won 3-0.
  • One game did not convince me, especially as the players paid attention to Ben Roberts and Damian Matthew during the injury breaks and blanked Luzon totally.

Thats rubbish Watt and Johnson both had conversations with Luzon and sitting where i do you could see him clearly getting instruction on the pitch and the players listening.
Why wouldn't they he is the manager !!
Just because we don't like the way he arrived (me included) lets at least be fair to him and give him half a chance

You see coaches giving players instructions all the time whilst the Manager looks on... As coaches Ben Roberts and Damien Matthew will be two of his subordinates who will relay his instructions on the training pitch as well as during the match (Could also be partly down to the language barrier between Luzon and X Player and may be harder for Luzon to get his point across whilst we're making a lot of noise)

I am REALLY looking forward to Wiggyville this weekend .. it should be a cracker between the Athletic rivals who are both desperate to stay in this division

Yes, am not disputing that at all. It may well be they can't understand him, lack of communication seems to be rife throughout the club these days.

Late goals have been a problem for longer than Luzon has been in charge. https://staddickstics.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/late-goals.png
  • Thankfully, a lot of those late goals have been irrelevant to the scoreline, because the opposition was already out of sight

Taking away late goals to make a stat look nicer... that old gem.

Football is 90 mins plus added time. Also assuming he wasn't in charge for Watford is a big conclusion, he's at least part responsible we all know that. So the stat's remain W1 D2 L1 if not W1 D2 L2 depending on how you look at it. Not the worst start but the next games will tell us what he's made of, he's had his team to get to know the team..
  • I'm confused as even without Watford game we've W1 D2 L2.

Absolutely right. I'm not trying to make things look rosier than they are. I want a team that plays to the whistle, not to the clock. Sadly we haven't been doing that.

    Breaking news from Sky.........

A source has told the sport's desk that for the Watford game,
when Guy luzon's work permit didn't come through on time the team
played scissors, paper, stone to decide the team.

A Female spokesperson For CAFC has said this is Rubbish as they put all the name in a bag and pulled them out at random as they have done all season.

Against Brentford the team was picked by the CL forum, hence why everyone played in their best position and a 3-0 result was the outcome.

Well, I got to see my first home match since the Millwall game.
And after everything people had told me, and what I'd read on here, what a surprise!

A positionally balanced team with a positive attitude.
The crowd behind the team from the start.

    It's how it should be.

    I still can't believe that thug of a Brentford number 19 never got sent off;
should have been straight red for leading with his elbow.

And even afterwards, his persistant fouling barely warranted a word from the referee.
    Incredibly weak refereeing.

    Jackson picked the team.

    Why can't anybody see that?

    ;o)
