  • Great win tonight against forest, humbled to get man of the match, fans were first class⚽️ #thatwinningfeeling #cafc

Above is Jordan Cousins tweet from tonights match... Should have been peeved off had he not got Man of the Match, just shows how good he was beating someone who scored two goals to the award tonight.

On another note.. Fox or Wiggins.. think its slowly getting to the point where Wiggins may not be an automatic start ahead of Morgan if he continues this way

The two things that I like lately is the fact that 1) We look dangerous going forward and with pace too and 2) We finally do not sit back and let the opposition have space to make a pass.

    Gomez already is some player.

Very impressed by Fox and Buyens tonight.

Cousins has grown as a player and has added some physical strength to his game. Said it on Saturday, Buyens and Cousins are a good partnership, they compliment each other.

Those last 3 minutes were brilliant and Watt was lovin' it.

Was dubious about us getting a result when I saw the line up.

    Credit to Guy Luzon.

Another enjoyable night at the Valley.

A tactical game with both sides trying to pass the ball around.

Antonio is a great winger but don't Forest overuse him. So many other good players everything going out to him. Gomez will have learnt a lot tonight.

But we won a tight game where neither keeper made many saves.

Cousins immense. Our whole 1st choice back 4 missing and we still win against a good side.

Bulot a new player, Watt brings something totally different to the side. Like Fuller but fitter.

Doubt we can finish higher than 8th so now is the time to tie key players to longer contracts. Gomez, JBG, Johnson, Bulot for a start.

    Isn't Bulot a loaner?

Anyone still bothered about our interview process?

    Nah, didn't think so.

Luzon tactically spot on. Half time subs won that game. COYR

It wasn't the process that most had a problem with, it was the blatant bullshit that came with it. I would've held more respect for the board if they'd have just come out from the off and said "we will not be interviewing anyone for the job, as we already have someone in place".

All the flak that Luzon was getting right from the start was not down to anything he'd done, but those above him............

    Yup sadly so :(
  • Cousins MOM. Buyens put in a good shift and Diarra after a shaky start played well at CB. Bulot is like a new signing and for the first time in ages I'm enjoying watching us play.

Excellent display given our makeshift defence and Fox for me is now first choice LB ahead of Wiggins.

Watt continues to be a pleasure to watch and really winds up opponents.

Forest should have had at least one player sent off.

Wilson 5 kept coming way too narrow, left Antonio room to run and was punished for it,wasn't a 4 because of the assist
Harriott 3 feigned injury to come off after falling over himself, has had enough chances to have an impact and squandered every one of them

Lepoint n/a came on late but was a decent outlet up front, was nearly in for a goal late on and I think he's been unfairly written off by many (as always)

Irony there writing off a young player who has shown some real class and I admit some real inability to recreate regular form
Harriott has had 3 seasons and hasn't properly progressed in that time, compare Blackpool away last season to Watford away and tonight, he's getting worse.

Lepoint was written off after 30 fucking minutes by a lot of people on here, despite never having played in English football before, or even trained with the group that much. Nothing ironic about it

I forgot to mention Diarra had a great game at centre half too, fair play to him!

Didn't see that at all - looked very nervous to me
Have to disagree with this. Not once was I worried when he was on the ball. And playing out of position too.

I thought Diarra looked the bollocks.
  • I have to say, cousins and Harriot pretty much joined the side at the same time, cousins has worked hard and become a key player, Harriot hasn't really gotten any better in 2 years.

    Good stuff.

Back a manager with a squad and reap the results.

As others have said, Luzon got grief not because of what he would bring but the way he was appointed.

Roland, learn from this season and next season could be special.

Well, we knew Luzon could get a good attacking team, now we know he can get them to defend as well. More changes than I think he'd have ever wanted to make to an 11 chasing a third 3-0 on the spin yet a solid defensive effort, good chances created and taken and a ballsy move making two subs at half time when you're leading - and it worked to perfection.

A defence consisting of a right midfielder, a CM coming back from a long time without consistent games, a teenage centreback and a young LB whose faced a lot of criticism and yet they kept a dangerous and in-form Forest pretty quiet, certainly once Gomez was detailed with marking up Antonio. Gudmundson not even on the bench yet up steps Freddy 'Raging' Bulot to bend in a JBGesque freekick and score from free play too.

Keep this up and I don't care what Luzon gets up to in the dugout, he's doing his talking on the pitch and I for one am impressed.

I missed Huddersfield and worried that I would get the hangover after the party tonight. Get in!!!!!!!! A great performance from a make shift team tonight. In this order, Tony Watt. Superb. This guy is top, top draw. Made both goals for me, even though Wilson put the cross in for Bulot's 2nd. That final 2mins when he just kept the ball in the corner was one of the best things I've seen down at the Valley that wasn't a goal. He is dangerous and gives the whole team a lift. Cousins. Just seeing what he did today makes me question how the hell Powell and Peeters got into management. We've basically wasted him out on the right and left wing for a season and a half. He was immense, and his work rate benefits Buyens. After that, a word for Bulot, Gomez and Fox. All put a shift in.

Also, as others have mentioned, credit to GL. The balls to take hear no evil, see no evil off at half time was great management. Our answer to Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor on the right were letting Forest back into the game. We proved that if you stick a good player in Gomez on that Antonio, he's nowt special.

Roll on the season run in. I'm excited, I've got a new hero in Watt, and I'm looking forward to a few goals between now and May.

Has to be Luzon's best result to date given Forest form and ambition (Rip!) and injuries / unavailability of key players Solly and Gudmundsson compounded with Eagles late arrival forcing him onto the bench.
I really didn't fancy that starting line up but the half time switches fixed the weaknesses as many have posted.
Once again our front six looked decent, this time vs a top team. Vetokele, Watt, Buyens, Bulot, Cousins and this time Eagles/Harriott played as a real unit.

And great to see Bikey again - very convincing display.

I really hope that most if not all are in our 2015-16 squad because our club can really build on this squad. 11 games left and, as ever looking forward to Millwall away - that game might be very sweet?!

We know the attacking threat we have up front.

To keep Forest at bay with a completely makeshift back 4 was really impressive though.

Fox is now looking like a decent player
Diarra did a great job filling in
Bikey did a good job in the second half
Wilson struggled a bit against their best player, but did set up the goal
Gomez showed massive promise, at the moment he's possibly better at RB than CB, unless up against small attackers, as he's got pace to burn, but perhaps not the strength to hold off big centre forwards at the moment

Cousins, a great performance, and seems to be getting more energy every game, he was dominating midfield by the end of the game after Lansbury went off.

Loved Watt taking the piss, and Dougie losing the plot!

    Bulot deserves a song :-)
  • Further adding to my point regarding Antonio. Once we showed him down the line his left foot was so bad I was embarassed for him. If you watch solly he always shows the winger on the outside its not hard to do. Gomez did exactly that and Antonio didn't show any threat.

Antonio forest were bang average. A 17 year old kept him quiet second half and they didn't have a threat. On the other hand we look very dangerous on the counter and punish teams. Defensively were very good, impressed with diarra

A bit biased - he tore Wilson a new one first half and had to be double marked 2nd half whichever side he played. He's decent.

I never said he was bad, I said he was quiet second half because we defended well too him. Hence why I said Antonio forest meaning they rely on him.

Wow what a week its been.
Saturday was outstanding tonight was pure graft and gritt.
Let's get the negatives out the way
Harriot was utter pony again, the Norman Wisdom of football.
It took Wilson 35 minutes to suss that Antonio was right footed and was cutting inside every time both his and Harriots defensive position for their goal was Sunday league stuff. But good cross from Wilson for the winner.
Jordan Cousins or Joe Gomez for MOM. Cousins was fantastic all game esp second half. But Gomez was asked to play centre half first half and then right back against their best player, he pushed him onto his weaker foot and relegated Antonio to weak crosses. And he nearly scored, the lad is only 17, think about it! He reminds me of a young Rio.
The rest were excellent too special praise to Morgan Fox best game he has played. Watt is fast becoming a CAFC ledge.
But top praise must go to the manager.
Luzon was spot on as he was on Saturday.
LePointe made a hell of an impact too. All those who wrote him off can do one.
Also loved Henderson mugging off their player as well.
    A great nights football

  • Am I the only one who thought Forest should not have felt obliged to give the ball back when Vetokele was injured (or in truth 'fatigued')? I couldn't understand why they kicked it out in the first place.

Completely agree. Igor wasn't writhing in pain or anything and we had the ball in a decent position and should have played on. If we are one down against Cardiff with 5 to go and they decide to kick it out then I hope we do the same thing. The law is clear, the referee decides if a stoppage is needed. Otherwise play on.

I think Harriott getting injured in quite possibly the funniest sniper / falling over moment I've seen for years, and then limping down the tunnel, down Luzon a favour with an enforced sub. I don't think he'd have made that change otherwise. Not that I thought Harriott was having a bad game, we were just too exposed down that side.

Would love to know how well a fit Solly would have done up against Antonio tonight.

I'm not sure how Solly would have done really but not as well as the taller Gomez in my opinion.

where did this Antonio come from?

Whatever drugs he's on to make jump around like zebidee, then let him keep popping them. Not sure about his methods but if the wins keep on coming then it's all good.
  • What happened to Harriet just before half time? Seemed to trip over his own feet and then 'feign' an injury till the whistle. Thought he might of just soiled himself?!?

Another great result. All credit to Luzon for turning it round. Even more impressive given the injuries.

If I only the season was lasted longer as I'd fancy us to make the play offs if ewe had a few more games!
