But The Reds Are Going Up

    Allez Allez Allez
    Allez Allez Allez

Is it 'now you're gonna believe us' or 'I know you won't believe us'

Cause I've always sang the second one

I think it starts as the second one and then at some point shifts to the first one, can't wait for the mumbling when that happens

This tune is ripe for a football terrace song - only three lines repeated over and over again.

    His name is Gass,
    Our number nine,
Put the ball on his head and he’ll score a goal
    Has to rhyme though, so

    His name is Gas
    Our number 9
Put the ball on his head and he'll score in time
    The original doesn’t rhyme

True, but "a goal" doesn't scan as well anyway

Given the circumstances the led to the original use of the line, singing ‘Nathan as our leader’ that sounds so Palace Ultra 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 you have to wonder if the original suggestion to sing it didn’t come from one of their fans. I’ll think I’ll join everyone else and keep quiet when we get to that line.

I always thought one line was ‘In 1947, we won the FA Cup’ followed the ‘now you’re believe us’.
  • I love it when our creative juices are flowing.

Not to get ahead of myself but I still do like the get up standup, Dixon is on the right idea

Wembley 2019 with 40,000 singing it at the end far surpasses that.
  • I sang "I don't even believe us but apparently the reds are going up"
  • What are the Charlton words to the Allez, Allez, Allez song? Really can't tell from where I am! Help, otherwise I am a chorus girl only.
    Every Saturday we follow
The boys in red and white
And now we got Lee Bowyer
    We’re f**ing Dynamite
    Sam Bartram, Jimmy Seed
    We won the FA Cup
I know you won’t believe us
But the reds are going up
    Allez Allez Allez
What is being sung instead of Lee Bowyer ? Nathan Jones doesn’t really fit and on Saturday it came across as just mumbled at that point
It should just be something generic like ‘The Pride of South East London’ so it doesn’t have to change every manager. And it only really with Lee Bowyer.

    Every Saturday we follow
The boys in red and white
The pride of South East London
    We’re f***ing dynamite
    This should be the version

What about singing to the opposition or us:
« You’ll never been that…you’ll never been that…Champions of Europe…you’ll never been that!
  • we can sing champions of london.
  • Our chanting yesterday my word. I feel like the more people, the worse it gets.

Valley Floyd Road feels even quicker than usual, there's still a gap in the Allez chant, and it felt like the teams performance was reflective of the big away following, uninterested.

We are in desperate need of orchestrator, for VFR alone, it's sang far far, far too quickly.

If the drummer drummed along to VFR the pace could be slowed down.
Unless I am mistaken, VFR is in ‘waltz’ time, 123,123,123 and so on, and if the drummer could suss that and play ‘boom pah pah, boom pah pah’  it might help.

I always have this song in my head when I hear the name Thierry Small.
I know Arsenal used to sing it for Henry but this must be much better than the one we currently have.

If you come on down to Valley
    You can see Thierry Small
He is the best since Sir Chrissy

Just look how good an anthem can be when sung at the proper pace. The speed of VFR these days is a travesty.

My 2nd favourite non-Charlton chant behind Marching Altogether (another one sung slower)

It'll piss off Oohahh but maybe we should just ban away fans? Our best away games are when we can't even fill 2 coaches it seems

VFR was being sung at lightening speed whilst there was some handbags across the invisible netting. First time I've heard it sung aggressively.
