What ? Do you believe what you type these are better then experienced championship playersValley11 said:
Because they're not experienced Championship players - which I believe we desperately need to balance a squad that's only been added to with a German cb who has just been playing in the poor Portuguese league, a crocked youngster who played one game for Sunderland and a striker who played four games last season, scoring none.Wheresmeticket? said:
So what about Gudmunsson, Watt, Vetokele, Bulot and Henderson? You didn't mention them.Valley11 said:
And there's the problem. RD won't pay the wages needed to bring in experienced Championship players, so we end up with Nego, PP and Tucudean. Mid table is the best we can ever hope for with a strategy like that.harveys gardener said:The People say that Paul Anderson has rejected our offer of a two year deal.
Oh the irony.

I do admire your blind loyalty but sometimes you take it too far, so far I think you are the imagining of a WUM.colin1961 said:

He's angling for a job in the PR department.

So what if a fellow Charlton fan wants to be positive about our football club , makes a change to read something other than constant moaning !10

Never seen Colin so active! Keep it up Col2

There is potential in this statement. However, we don't know if the Danish guy will be any good, whether vetokele is over his Achilles injury, or whether KAG is ready. If we get positive conclusions to those three issues, it would be a huge bonusBR7_addick said:Am I the only one who thinks we dont need a forward?
Watt, Igor, Makeniok and Grant? Grant looked very sharp today and in good shape, I think he could step up.1 -

Reports on Makeniok from those watching his league are not promising - he seems to score goals (at a lower level) without bringing anything else to the party (like PP). Italians also didn't rate him and for the reported fee we could have bought Ciftci who can hold ball, take on players with pace and score goals, all from wide right. Igor is still crocked and Tony is less fit than when he joined us. Pigott told he can leave. Shame Josh Umeragh didn't get a run out as he and KAG may be our main strikeforcewmcf123 said:

The Danish super league is comparable, and probably the closest thing, to the championship. A very physical and not that skilful league, bar the odd upcoming star or past their peak journeymen. I think he will do well for us.5

Oh right ok, perhaps you can inform us all of what was offered?Valley11 said:

sure we need players the squad needs numbers and quality but FFS some are slitting their fecking wrists in July and NO MATTER what happens its RD`s fault---do you remember the two tossers that preceded RD ? or how about Watt,Vetokele,JBG,Buyens, Bulot,Bikey,Henderson,TBH, they all came in last year and at least 6 of them did very well.
This clubs fans are fecking bi polar its either "top of the world ma" or doom and gloom---we aint SPURS get a hold of ur bollox32 -
Two months off as opposed to five months on bench for SL. Got lapped by JC and Fox over mile at Sparrows Lane. Only a guess but I'd say his only close season exercise was lifting his right arm. Good player but a fit Watt might be a great player.daveydanger said:"Tony is less fit than when he joined us"

To summarise, you're still sore that we didn't sign Ciftiharveys gardener said:

But Ciftci plays in a league that is arguably League 1 level and certainly no better than the Danish top division, and if, as you say, he plays wide right (where we currently have JBG) then you can't really compare with Makeniok who is a centre forward.harveys gardener said:

So if you've watched Simon, what has he got that Pigott and PP don't? Does he hold the ball up well against CH brutes? Bully them? He admits to having no pace and 6'7" for crosses will be wasted if JBH cuts in from right and Bulot doesn't arrive on left.c4fcdenmark said:The Danish super league is comparable, and probably the closest thing, to the championship. Is Harvey Ciftci's agent, lover or both? You should be thankful your beloved is in the champions league next season and not turning out for a humdrum side in the championship7

Have you watched Makienok?harveys gardener said:

He won't have to have that much about him to be better than Pigott.harveys gardener said:

You have just described Derek Hales from the 70's and 80's. Didn't do him any harm.harveys gardener said:

His goal scoring record at Brøndby was excelent and not just from headers. I will, and you should, reserve judgement until we have seen him play in the championship. I am confident that he will do well.16

Assuming the stats i found online are correct, Big Simon had a slightly better goalscoring record then Igor did in the same league, only difference is Igor signed for us last summer and proved he was up to it where as Simon has had that disaster of a season in Italy, assuming he can get his confidence back(if he lost it), then i am sure he will do a decent job for us this coming season.
Not worried about either of our 3 signings, think they are all good enough, more worried that we really need players in sooner rather then later, so the team building can happen in pre season not during a very tough opening month of the season, which is why the Bulot screw up, who we should have got signed up at the end of last season is a major blow in my opinion, as he already knew the club.7 -
No signings from other championship clubs yet?.0

What? That's a bit like comparing Ian Botham with Jimmy Anderson!shirty5 said:

Igor has pace, can hold up, out-bully CHs and decent in air for his size. Whether we will see best of him again is iffy. If I'd seen Simon's profile prior to signing I'd have not been impressed. Our scouting network needs to look beyond goals because Pete, George, Reza and Delort all had decent scoring records and were found wanting. Please recruit on attributes and skillset. Don't see Simon being the new Yann whereas Ciftci could have been if played central.3
