I'm still a bit peed off with the Bulot situation. Feels like total mismanagement of the situation by the club has led to this point.

Not the club fault that SL wanted 2 mill more after a deal had been struck ..

I'm not sure if you are being paid by the club to be overly optimistic or you are Roland himself, to be honest that would explain the butchering of the English language considering it's not your first (or second or third) language.

Either way you're statement that we only need 3 players is absolutely ridiculous

Am I the only one who thinks we dont need a forward?
Watt, Igor, Makeniok and Grant? Grant looked very sharp today and in good shape, I think he could step up.

Piggott scored a hat trick a couple of years ago and looked superb. I'm not saying KAG can't step up. But we shouldn't use a pre season friendly to judge the player either way, especially the first friendly of the year!

I agree with you in that we shouldn't get too hyped up by his (very promising) performance yesterday, but he has already shown that he can play at this level (Fulham away) whereas piggott has never done that in a competitive match!!
  • The non communication of the owner does not make life easier for us. Now he has sold SL we have no idea whether he plans to push on CAFC or not. Seems to me the FIFA/FA have screwed his concept of having well run clubs living (almost) within their means whilst others go bankrupt. I am guessing he will be disenchanted and sell us on.

The People say that Paul Anderson has rejected our offer of a two year deal.

And there's the problem. RD won't pay the wages needed to bring in experienced Championship players, so we end up with Nego, PP and Tucudean. Mid table is the best we can ever hope for with a strategy like that.
So what about Gudmunsson, Watt, Vetokele, Bulot and Henderson? You didn't mention them.
Because they're not experienced Championship players - which I believe we desperately need to balance a squad that's only been added to with a German cb who has just been playing in the poor Portuguese league, a crocked youngster who played one game for Sunderland and a striker who played four games last season, scoring none.

  • I do admire your blind loyalty but sometimes you take it too far, so far I think you are the imagining of a WUM.

He's angling for a job in the PR department.

He is the new Comical Ali.
  • Never seen Colin so active! Keep it up Col

There is potential in this statement. However, we don't know if the Danish guy will be any good, whether vetokele is over his Achilles injury, or whether KAG is ready. If we get positive conclusions to those three issues, it would be a huge bonus
  • "Tony is less fit than when he joined us"

Oh right ok, perhaps you can inform us all of what was offered?

Two months off as opposed to five months on bench for SL. Got lapped by JC and Fox over mile at Sparrows Lane. Only a guess but I'd say his only close season exercise was lifting his right arm. Good player but a fit Watt might be a great player.

Reports on Makeniok from those watching his league are not promising - he seems to score goals (at a lower level) without bringing anything else to the party (like PP). Italians also didn't rate him and for the reported fee we could have bought Ciftci who can hold ball, take on players with pace and score goals, all from wide right. Igor is still crocked and Tony is less fit than when he joined us. Pigott told he can leave. Shame Josh Umeragh didn't get a run out as he and KAG may be our main strikeforce
But Ciftci plays in a league that is arguably League 1 level and certainly no better than the Danish top division, and if, as you say, he plays wide right (where we currently have JBG) then you can't really compare with Makeniok who is a centre forward.
  • The Danish super league is comparable, and probably the closest thing, to the championship. A very physical and not that skilful league, bar the odd upcoming star or past their peak journeymen. I think he will do well for us.

So if you've watched Simon, what has he got that Pigott and PP don't? Does he hold the ball up well against CH brutes? Bully them? He admits to having no pace and 6'7" for crosses will be wasted if JBH cuts in from right and Bulot doesn't arrive on left.

    Have you watched Makienok?

He won't have to have that much about him to be better than Pigott.

You have just described Derek Hales from the 70's and 80's. Didn't do him any harm.
