Ipswich would be a good move for him. Hope he gets a deal sorted as he seems a good egg.

I think he's been great for us. Was real class and a cut above in the league 1 title winning season. Although I wasn't there that cross he put in for Kermorgant to score away at Oldham when we were down to 9 men. I can imagine going mental if I were there that day.

I think he's easily held his own in the champ and but for the 2 recurring injuries he would still be mine and our first choice!!!!

If you want to talk about wishing someone like Church well upon leaving (which I do) then this man gets it multiplied by 100 if he does go. A decent player who will be remembered as a key component of the great league 1 title win
Fully agree. Sadly though, since his injuries he simply has not been the same player and I suspect would be 3rd choice for next season if he stayed. As we have seen in the past, there is no room for sentiment in a RD squad and so his departure was perhaps inevitable. I wish him well and hope that he can show his undoubted ability elsewhere.

I'd be gutted if he went. May have injury troubles now, but that League 1 season he was one of the best players in the league. Hartlepool away sticks out for me when he just flying up the left wing all afternoon.

Agree he was great in League One, but that was three years ago, in a division below. Harsh as it sounds I don't think he has or will make the step up to Championship level on a consistent basis and therefore it's right to try and move him on.

If we sold wiggins we'd be short of players again. We need him if Bergy plays left mid and Fox Lb

As I understand Wiggins is on decent money - not sure we can afford for him to be a back up left back.

In League 1 he was brilliant, a Brazilian style fullback rampaging forward and causing havoc. Then the injuries started and he has never been the same, he seems to take a month or so to get back to a decent standard after each return to the side but he still isn't that player he was. He is still good defensively but seems to have lost the cavalier spark that made him the player he was, it maybe that it has been drummed out of him or he fears he can't recover his ground anymore.

Whatever reason if he is surplus to requirements here than I wish him all the best, when he was good he was very good.

I like wiggins but since his injury he has sadly not been the same player. £750k is a good price for him. If he finds his old form prior to injury Wednesday will have a bargain. But I don't think he will because he's had so many problems. Shame though

Question - what the hell happened to anil koc?

As far as I remember he was only a youth loan from Standard Liege, and went back to SL last year.

Don't honk Rhoys will be keen on a move to Sheffield tbh, could see Ipswich perhaps though. He'd still be backup to Parr though.

Parr. Is that the ex Palace player? Wiggins (if fit and firing) is a lot better from what I have seen.

If Wiggins was fit & firing, we wouldn't be moving him on.

If we got £750K for him, I feel that would be unbelieveably good. In fact I can't see it. Even £500K would be brilliant (bearing in mind he can't play more than 10 games, without being injured again & out for months).

You're probably right there, and if the figures of 0.75m are correct then its a fair price. Not sure THD is defensively good enough for champ yet though so across the whole back 4 we're looking pretty thin. Guessing this will be strengthened with 3 signings from now if Wiggins does go

Think we need two Centre backs and a right back - or even one centre back and one who can play centre or right.

    Then our squads finished.

    Something like

    Right Backs - Solly, Herd

    Left Backs - Bergdich, Fox

centre backs - Bauer, Lenglet, New Signing, Diarra

Wiggins would have gone on to play in the premiership if it were not for his injuries IMO. Unfortunately, and I know some will disagree, but a big element to his game was pace. It is your get out of jail free card when you are a defender. And I think he has lost some of that. I now put Fox above him for the left back place and with Bergdich now signed, it is hard to justify keeping him when his wages could free up a signing where we are more in need of cover. Having said that, it is hard to see a club paying any money for him.

It feels to me like we need that other centre back, which I think was the big signing mentioned in Belgium. Big in the sense that we will be paying a significant amount for him. Henry would be an excellent signing too. We could be a bit of a handful with him added. I will be at the higher end of my expectation levels if this business gets done. I still hope Luzon patches up his differences sufficiently with Bikey so we can at least have him on the bench like we did at the end of last season. I do think he has something to offer.

Lenglet is a CB who can apparently play RB, so him and another CB would probably do the job.

It's funny how we have left all the centre backs till the end where we have the biggest hole. If we are going bigger on the spending then maybe they are harder to get over the line.

Him and keep Bikey - unless we can get better in which wont be easy.

it's not hard to get better than Bikey. Really don't rate him and Luzon certainly doesn't.

Guess most modern defenders can fill in where required but the more detailed write up from France suggested he might struggle for pace in the wider positions. Thankfully Solly played more than most of us expected last season but without quite being the player he was. With the additional CM's on board I guess Cousins can always revert to RB but wouldn't want to move him too often after last season.

It's without doubt his injuries that have done for him. Wasn't he just about the first player that RD nailed down on a decent contract ? It's not his ability in question its paying him probably very decent money when I he can't stay fit.

We have given him two seasons to get up and firing again and he's not been able to deliver. We have to replace him with some quality which has now at last been done and he needs to move to accommodate that.

I wish him well. Three years ago he was a cracking player on his day.

£750k for Wiggins would be amazing - I was assuming he was going on a free !

I can pinpoint some stuff that makes him look rubbish, but lots of stuff that makes him effective. He is that sort of player/ I think Ben Haim and Johnson made as many, if not more errors that led to goals last season as he did and his power is a real asset.

but we don't want Cousins at right back do we, even in reserve?

that would take away from the midfield which, as good as it might be this season still needs Cousins to be in there. he thrived when he was moved into the centre and that is where he should stay, imo. we need his energy in midfield.

we're bringing in options in all/most positions, let's get Kelly or Herd in to cover that r/b slot.

not sure covering at r/b will be forming part of his ongoing contract negotiations either.

I agree about Wiggins - he definitely had premiership potential but, as previously said, his pace has taken a hit. He was phenomenal at stopping crosses into the box but he also had trickery to beat the opposing full back (i remember him putting someone on his arse once with a drop of the shoulder - brilliant moment).

It's a shame because my company have sponsored him for the last 3 seasons and he's always nice to have a chat to - but business is business so if there are replacements and his face doesn't fit then it's best for all parties that he goes.

That said - £750k for someone we have barely seen for a couple of years would be tremendous!

I think we owe it to Wiggins to give him a chance to get fit and stay fit. He's easily our best left back when fit, despite the progress of Fox (who I rate). We're losing a good Championship player here. Good luck to him.
