but is there money for the Sparrows Lane redevelopment - this will tell whether RD is serious about our club
I agree, that is the real test
Well the work as started on the 12 million improvement plan , two of our pitches that we use have been taken back by Charlton to have drainage laid fir the foundations of the new build , they are building two full size all weather surfaces that we will use for our training.

Not sure what "two of the pitches that we use have been taken back by Charlton" means? Do you mean used by Eltham Utd? The team you manage? or Charlton?
The Club don't have planning permission, yet, for the new build.
The players canteen is now in a temporary building as the old canteen is a gym
All weather surfaces are great but don't cost £12m although that figure seems to have gone up from £6 to £10 and now to £12m.
When the planning application is submitted and agreed and when ground is broken for the 4 story building then we can say "work has started" not before.
Interesting that KM says we got all but 2 of our summer targets,Henry was obviously 1 we missed out on,wonder who the other was? Also says that the player budget is all but done.
where did she say this? Not seen the article, cheers
In the SLP,she says that a combination of 7 new signings,Cousins and JBG signing new deals and part paying the wages of our loaned out players has pushed us over budget. Moneys there to renegotiate deals for Fox and Pope.
Then just sell the loaned out players so we don't have to pay their wages. Must be a mug club somewhere out there who will take them off our hands. (After all, someone managed to flog them to us once).
Good to read articles like this that inform and update fans but still surprises me that it is in the SLP and not on our OS
Good to see the club are making a conscious effort to make sure the academy players are rewarded for their improvements. Learning from the poyet situation.
Maybe a slight dig at the end saying "it shows the people we have know what they're doing" recruitment wise... To people digging out our scouting system after the nego and polish Pete signings.

Agreed, but at least it seems to me that Katrien is acknowledging that the early RD/KM signings were poor and that the financial impact of those is now damaging our ability to fully complete our squad
We're spending more on wages that last season despite fewer players. So we're playing higher wages per head. Costs creeping up? Willing to pay more for better quality? realisation that quality costs more?
We can't sell Polish Pete at a price that we want. Randers wanted him but wouldn't pay the price or all his wages. So, no we can't just ignore that mistake as it is still costing us and limiting our ability to sign new players
Marco is being "developed" in Spain. So maybe not out of the picture completely
Our scouts didn't know about Bauer or Kashi but saw them while scouting other players. Luck or a natural consequence of spreading their net? And who were those other players (Sarr?).
"It shows the people we have in the business know what they are talking about." Now, maybe : - )

Very interesting article. Maybe she felt such information was a bit too balanced for the programme or OS!
It shows how the previous failings in the transfer market are still costing us. Annoying that we had to pay Bikey up, as effectively that's a year (or part year) of wasted salary
So while we are over budget it looks like they're also willing to go further over budget with new contracts for Pope, Fox and a loanee or two if needed.
Next summer Harriott, Dmitrovic, Moussa and others such as Pigott will be out of contract. If it's not possible this season you'd hope next season we'll have a more complete squad with the 2/3 extra players KM talks about.
As well as Bikey we may have also paid off Lepoint. He's listed as having his contract terminated by mutual consent here in the June 2015 document:
You don't usually see a club's CEO be that honest about decisions made during the transfer window. Maybe lessons learned from early in the RD regime when it was clear fans were not happy about the level of communication.
Some fans not all, and the last comments from her are Clearly aimed at those who use their media outlets to spout anti don't know what your doing bollox at every opportunity
Good for km she has a feisty side that is a perfect complement to her strictly professional side,
Matt Wright @mattjobob 2h2 hours ago Matt Wright retweeted Richard Cawley Meire much more revealing here than in recent prog column. If already over budget, bad news for squad strength
Richard Cawley @RichCawleySLP 2m2 minutes ago @mattjobob Don't think will stop them from trying to add. Still made a bid for Henry on last day of window.
Echo what others have said - refreshingly honest and informative re. the juggling required. This should be encouraged and can only help mend the fractures the previous mistakes caused.

They took the money from the pot hole filling budget
A good update there from KM. One thing that sticks out for me though is not the fact that Bauer and Kashi were picked up as bonus finds or not the original target but the fact they were picked up by the Standard Liege scouts.
Now Liege are no longer owned by RD is it safe to assume the scouting link-up we had with them has also ended? If RD had sold Liege a year ago would we still have been informed of Bauer and Kashi by the Liege scouts? Could we have identified Bauer and Kashi without the Liege scouts? Is there still a link-up between both clubs scouting systems even under different ownership? Can we go into future transfer windows and still find the Bauer's and Kashi's without a link-up with Liege scouts?
All in all it has to be said we've had another successful transfer window and we appear to have a stronger team than we did when it opened.
"There was no late activity in the transfer window for the Addicks, but they were not helped by the fact that they were forced to pay up Andre Bikey’s contract."
Reading this again the word "forced" is interesting.
It is Cawley's word or at least he's not quoting KM but why were we "forced". We had the option to leave him with the U21s although that might not have been ideal and just pay him week by week.
Wouldn't have freed up any money as would still have to pay him until he went out on loan or moved permanently in January but why "forced".
Because the bloke was a bellend not all the ticket, made fox a nervous wreck, is that enough? So you could say we were forced to get rid as thats better than having a raving lunatic prowling around SL

Sure, not disagreeing that he is said to have been a bad influence but "forced" still seems an odd word to use with any explanation in article.
Bikey's contract being paid up doesn't necessarily mean we paid the full amount left on his contract. More likely we negotiated a lower amount on the basis he could be released and would be able to find a new club after the window closed.

No doubt forced, in as much as, we had to pay him off, to get him out the door.

Doesn't suggest he moved for an undisclosed fee as claimed on the OS.
