Great day and made some great friends, further down the line it led to my introduction to the Upbeats.

What a great day it was. Will never forget the defensive "wall" that was me and Sarge. As mobile and as solid!! Haven't worn those good old West German boots since.

I remember an old friend's boss donated a case of champagne. We knew no one else would want it as wasn't that sort of crowd... mind you having said that no one else got a look in on the auction as I think Oohaah bought the lot. In his words.. im buying those shirts as that's the last time we will play in the premiership.

    He's not often wrong...

Anyway I said to mate, you bid for the champagne and we can split the case and the cost between us. I told Tavern I would like the champagne... couldn't believe it when my mate and him started outbidding each other and we ended up paying far more than we wanted. Still cheap tho for a case of Veuve. Idiot.

Anywya there were some cracking appearances on the pitch that day. Fine figures of men... right where are my pictures.

Where's the video footage of the goal in the old uns match I got a sublime assist, who scored it Killersbeard ???
And then I created another for WSS I think and there was some moody infringement that the Lino or ref saw and it was disallowed

I think next year it will have to be a vets game followed by a geriactrics game :-)

Curb It, you paid £140 for that champagne.

@guinnessaddick it was me responsible for providing and cutting up what seemed like half of Sainsbury's orange supplies. I also laid on water for all teams cos i'm a bloody good bloke (plus i knew from running a sunday team that everyone else would forget!)

Who were the four managers and what were the team names ? I remember Large was one (manager, not team name)

Killersbeard has posted it this am on his FB so I've told him to get on here.

I've got no action shots, well not very clear ones. Did you ever get that Palace ticket AFKA?

Pardew Porkies had 7 left footers in the team. We were great on YouTube before the game.

I've been reminiscing about this all day. Wonderful memories of a very special day, with some very special people.

The way the body is now, I might have to simply commentate next time tho!!

Hope this link works, all about the approach play!

Fortunately I had been replaced by Weegie Addick, so took no part in the 20 minutes of build up play before the goal went in. ;)

My ankle has never fully recovered after the brutal lunge from the oppo goalkeeper in game two.

It was that bad, we should have been awarded two penalties.
