Scoring is so quick these days that we could (in theory) build a lead of 500+ and still have five sessions to bowl them out

    Weather permitting.
  • Yet another 50 for Golden Balls 2nd

    181-4 Lead of 303
  • Very difficult to see us losing from here now. Watson's military medium is pure cannon fodder at this level
  • Root bowled by Hazlewood for 60

    207-5 and a lead of 329

A lead of 400 would be excellent
  • 240-7 lead 362

    Is it enough?
  • Wickets tumbling now. Will 380 - 400 be enough? Traditionally you'd have thought so but the cricketing times are a changing.
  • We SHOULD have enough..........but I'm getting a bit twitchy
  • 245-8 now Broad gone
  • 266-8. Partnership from Moeen and Wood here would be ideal.
  • Woody! What a man.

  • England 289 all out. Lyon bowls Anderson.

Australia will need 412 runs to win. They'll start their chase tomorrow.
  • if they win, they deserve it.
  • Any charlton fans going tomorrow. I've just travelled up to Birmingham to get 2 tickets. I hope we win tomorrow as there rain forcast for Sunday.

Should you not have gone to Cardiff?
  • Weather forecast looks ropey onSunday again, maybe England knew that hence the aggressive batting display yesterday afternoon.

yep, rain now forecast for all day - so likely only 2 possible results - England win or rain affected draw.
See also that cloud cover forecast for most of today - Jimmy weather ?
Like Boycott, i dont think Oz have got any chance of winning, England have been the better team over 3 days.
I wonder if Starc will be fit for next Test?
  • Also, we seem to have discovered a real gem in Mark Wood.
  • Starc will be a big loss for them, might even go as far to say it will make us favourites.

Really like Wood, hope he plays in at least three tests, supposed to be a bit lightweight.
  • Give him out Kumar, out, out Kumar can you hear me? OUT!

Anyone else shouting at the telly then?
  • Rogers trying it? Good blow, 3 wickets a session will do me.

Starc has already been ruled out of the next Test.

I wonder how ledbury is getting on in Birmingham ?
  • Oz are very fortunate to be only 1 down. It really could be 3 down.
  • Strange decision to bring Ali on, pressure off, leaked runs.
