Are people upset that it was an Arsenal shirt or just the shirt of another team ?
What if it had been a Palace shirt ?
What if it had been a Malmo FC shirt ?
As for his ability, he was great at the end of the season before last and in that same year got a call up to England U19 - he can't be that terrible can he.....2 -

The majority of you don't agree with my opinion, that's fine, that's what forums are all about, differing views, but as I said last night, I have not abused any one of you for having a differing view to me.
It's a stupid thing really and pretty insignificant, but it grinds on me that Harriott showed disrespect for dressing his kid in an Arsenal shirt at the last home game of the season. You can make all the excuses you like about his bird dressing the kid etc., but at the end of the day, it was Harriott's decision to parade him on the pitch in another teams shirt!

Sam, don't take the thread off topic. We're having a discussion about toddler fashion I think. I don't know why though.
Just to add though, my daughter likes a Singer from Argentina called Violetta, and ended up wearing an Argentina football shirt last summer. I remember Maradona's hand of god clearly, and would'nt touch that shirt with a bargepole, but my daughter likes it, so she wears it. The whole 'toddler in an Arsenal shirt' thing is just beyond parody. Can we drop it?8 -

To try and bring this back on topic... any chance of using him as a makeweight in the proposed/supposed Henry deal? Wolves don't get left short a winger and we knock a little off the price and the wage bill also. Assuming of course Wolves WANT Harriot and he agrees to go, which he may not with a young child that would be uprooted.1

If I'd been asked in advance I would have suggested that his son wear a Charlton kit or no football kit at all. I fear that it is a lack of intelligence or respect that he would think it ok to take his son on the pitch in another club's shirt.
I wouldn't go out of my way to punish him but it is wrong even if it is a mediocre 'crime'.
Interestingly, though, it is not all that surprising as I think his problem is a lack of common sense or 'football intelligence'. He has plenty of talent, he has pace, can shoot, can cross and often sees passes, but he seems to make silly mistakes. Either that is a lack of concentration or a lack of intelligence. As he is, he can be a liability. He can, in the space of a few minutes, do something fantastic and then something that has you pulling your hair out. He runs into dead ends, loses control of the ball and often plays ridiculous passes that, instantly, put us in trouble. Then he can go on a speedy run a score or make a goal.
I think it's time for him to move on. He may well be a huge success in his career but I can't see that happening if he stays with us now. If we can get decent money for him than I would be happy to sell him. However, I'm not sure that a loan deal wouldn't benefit us more as if he can learn to concentrate for longer periods he could come back a much better player.1 -
Here's hoping Callum can get his Charlton career back on track tonight, with a really intelligent, stunning performance against the posh, that will do him and us, the world of good.3

Well that would be most welcome.. But the one gripe I have about Callum is that "intelligence" is not very evident. the whole Toddlergate incident was not (for me) especially insulting or disrespectful, but it wasn't intelligent either. And Callum just doesnt show a capacity for learning/improvement. Our squad is thin, we needed him on Saturday and he did all right, get off his back.
I have met him briefly, he is a good guy, he is one of our own, and I would say giving him encouragement is likely to be more helpful all round than having a go at him.

I'm sure he's a nice enough bloke (I don't know him), think it's time he moved on from us and kickstarted his career somewhere else and id wish him all the best.
Whatever my opinion of him, I just don't think he's good enough to get in our current match day squad and I generally groan when he comes on as he's a bit of a headless chicken really.
Stupidly as well, the 'messi' thing and the kit thing also annoy me (I know it shouldn't as I'm a grown man and have got far more to worry about in my life) but it does....I think it was very naive3 -

My son was with his grandfather (father in law) and he purchased the very smart Adidas Argentina away shirt cos my son liked the look of it
