I thought I’d get some Orient opinion. Obviously, they’re disappointed, but this thread is bitter as fuck. They seem to think were a bunch of cloggers, but seem to have not considered that maybe that wasn’t the best we can perform. So much hate for NJ too. The irony is that it’s titled “Not Sour Grapes” https://lofcforum.com/forum1/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=15891
That was Orient’s chance, 4 of their starting 11 are on loan and the chances of being able to replace someone like Kelman are almost zero. Pretty soon they’ll complete their evolution to just being some sort of feeder club for Tottenham.
Best of luck to them, hope they enjoy playing Mansfield & Stevenage etc for another year.
Some people on there that actually get it and admit we executed a perfect game plan and others that seem to think you should get points for your style of play. No goals conceded in 270 minutes and played a perfect tournament brand of football , give me that over 63% possession and 400+ passes without properly working Mannion.
Well, they are going to be at least a tad bitter. They lost a play off final.....which is probably a beyond shit feeling we have (thankfully) yet to experience.
It's not worth caring about what they think. I didn't hear anything from their fans all game....apart from when they were all dashed excited getting a corner and stood tall clapping!
Good luck to them next season. I hope they learn, regroup, and challenge for top 3.
Orient are a great club that adds greatly to the diversity of London football culture. We should be humble in victory, just as a number on their forum are being objective in defeat.
Good cross section of comments on the Orient forum. Some of them seem to think that they are generally Barcelona and just failed to turn up yesterday. I particularly like the comment that “I wouldn’t pay to watch that stink”. Perhaps he should be reminded of Orients recent past. I’ve always had a soft spot for The O’s but fuck em now. They’ll lose Galbraith, Kelman, Donley and Currie and next year will be nowhere. Bring on the stink.

I don't mind Orient. I can't see them anywhere near top 3 next season though, as most of their best players will be recalled or leave, and Wellens might move on also.

Despite being the one who posted the link, I don’t mind Orient either.
I expected a bit of anger and disappointment, it’s understandable. But I was maybe a tad surprised at just how salty the comments were on there, that’s all. I still think they’re a decent club. Put it this way, if we’d lost to Wycombe I would’ve cheered Orient on yesterday. I hope they regroup and challenge again next year.

They will lose loan players but clubs like Spurs will see them as ideal for their next batch of youth players as they are local, Wellens is a good coach, they give the loans game time and they play attacking, passing football.
We might even want to send M'Bick, Dixon or Enslin there
They will try to repeat their success this year but it will be tough.

A few bitter on there but overall not got a bad word for orient and thought it was a bit out of order when we gave them a chorus of your support is fing shit' - to an extent, their a smaller version of us - friendly, nobody got a bad word to say about them (other than palace and a few millwall) and that's coz their mostly a decent bunch - its not their fault they don't have the support so hats off to their loyal fans and for why they support - local team, local supporters - give me them over your big club glory boys any day of the week. We did what we do yesterday and that is what you have to do in league 1 when 75% of your away games are played against small clubs with small pitches who just want a battle - next year, we'll see more football played i'm sure.

I think they’ll do well to keep hold of Wellens - could be a very different Orient by the start of next season.
As for the Orient fans saying what a poor side we are, not sure what that makes them given that we met three times in the league & playoffs and beat them every single time.
Leaving the stadium yesterday I was going down the busy escalator where everyone else was orient overlooking the escalator a group of our fans delighted in deriding them. Unfortunately some of our fans are idiots

Don't get this. I want everyone London club bar us to fail miserably at every possible opportunity.
What was their view on the goal against Stockport that was 5 miles off side. If that goal was rightfully ruled out, they wouldn’t have got their once in a generation big day out

I read this a lot, but 1-0 at that point changes the whole complexion of that first leg.
Stockport arent a goal down so don't necessarily need to push as hard, whilst Orient may continue pushing to try and get the lead - Plus there was the penalty appeal ignored on Kelman which evened out the two decisions. Stockport also had two gilt edge changes at the end of Normal Time and Extra Time in the second leg to win it.

Got no ill feelings for their club or their fans. Had a nice chat with a few on the tube beforehand.
They're alright Orient.
Massively enjoyed the win, but we have a lot to do if we are to survive next season.
They on the other hand are going to sink in League One unless they can replace the decent loan players they had this season.

Think they are quite similar to Donaster in 18/19. Play football, and move the ball well, but just lacked that something extra to get the job done.
I think now similar to Doncaster they'll lose their better players, manager and struggle a bit.
