Don't mind Leyton Hotspurs they're all right and the genuine O's fans i know are top notch , although one on a group chat bitterly said 'congratulations see you back in league 1 in 2026' to which i gleefully responded 'now now, you might not stay up'
I thought I’d get some Orient opinion. Obviously, they’re disappointed, but this thread is bitter as fuck. They seem to think were a bunch of cloggers, but seem to have not considered that maybe that wasn’t the best we can perform. So much hate for NJ too. The irony is that it’s titled “Not Sour Grapes” https://lofcforum.com/forum1/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=15891
The most irrelevant club in London
Not having that. A proud club & one of London’s oldest.
And you said it without any irony, despite being called Croydon!!
I've a lot of time for Orient. My mum's team and our opponents in my first ever match; Charlton won that one 2-0. I chatted to a few of them yesterday and they all seemed nice people who loved football and their club. I much prefer fans who support teams where they have genuine reasons for their allegiance, rather than those who simply latch on to one of the bigger teams because it's easier or trendier. On that front, credit to everyone who supports both Leyton Orient and Charlton Athletic. I can understand some bitterness on their part right now, I'm sure many of us would feel bitter had we got so close to the prize but just failed to get over the line. The fact remains though, despite the difference in possession we were the better team on the day.
Nothing against Orient at all - and have a few mates who support them as I used to play in a football team there for a few years.
Not going to take anything said on that thread too personally. They've just lost their biggest game in 40 odd years - can't expect them to be too happy.

I think we should give Orient supporters some slack as I'm sure we would be licking our wounds if we'd lost. We had links with them years ago when they were Clapton Orient and owned by the Glikstens and Jimmy Seed was manager for a couple of years before joining us.

The most irrelevant club in London
The most authentic club in the UK. (Said one of their owners).
They will lose loan players but clubs like Spurs will see them as ideal for their next batch of youth players as they are local, Wellens is a good coach, they give the loans game time and they play attacking, passing football.
We might even want to send M'Bick, Dixon or Enslin there
They will try to repeat their success this year but it will be tough.
As long as they turn up to first day of training with their winners medal on
Can't have any ill feeling for Orient. Anyone who supports them when they could easily support Spurs or West Ham in that neck of woods shows they're proper.
Always gonna be difficult to be magnanimous in defeat and not bitter in the immediate aftermath of a crushing loss especially when it's a tough ask to repeat their season again given they've had loans and some of their fans have been saying they over performed so wouldn't take too much notice of a few posts- i'd be gutted and bitter had we lost Sunday even if it had been deserved.
Always thought of them as a decent club and good set of fans so really wish them well and would like to see them do well next year.
As has been said above would be useful to have a mutually beneficial loan relationship with them for some of our younger players as only a stones throw away and they have a good manager and play some decent football.

Fake tattoos of Jonesy on his knees, looking up to God, on their calves
To be fair to Orient, it was a bit of a crap game, we didn't threaten much, they had more of the ball and hit the woodwork twice.
But the guys pointing out that we got the goal, looked to see the 1-0 out, and successfully got a third clean sheet in the playoffs are right.
I'd add that the game way nervy etc and not that reflective of how we've been playing - feel like in our good run we've not sat back on a 1-0 much at all and I've been pretty impressed at how often we've gone for a second, third etc.
Lemme think….. Leyton Orient or West Ham United? Bit like do you prefer a proper street cafe breakfast, or a synthesised MacDonalds egg and cheese Mac muffin? Leyton Orient are a fine club as far as I’m concerned.
Good mate is an Os season ticket holder. They're disappointed but know they've overachieved this season. Decent bunch imo and good luck to them next season. It wasn't pretty but we were defensively excellent on Sunday.
So one or two Orient supporters are a bit cheesed off they lost and suddenly they are the devil incarnate. Come on get real.
Imagine how devastating it must be to lose at Wembley. In fact, as we picked the trophy up and I looked across at their empty end I could only imagine how gut-wrenching it must be.
If you live in the Orient area, imagine the pressure to support West Ham or Spurs. So fair play to anyone who sticks to supporting the Os. And by and large I've always found their fans a pretty decent lot.
Mind you, I imagine a lot of their seat sales were to West ham fans. I personally know 2 West Ham season ticket holders who went, one in a group of 14 of whom only a handful were Os fans!
Good luck to Orient next year as far as I'm concerned.

What's your point?
DFTT
How is saying Leyton Orient aren’t an irrelevant club, and perhaps he should look closer to home in Croydon for London’s most irrelevant club trolling?!?!
Okay… sorry… Orient, one of London’s oldest clubs, with an interesting history & loyal local support are more irrelevant than Crystal Palace, a club founded by a landlord who wanted to cash in on growing popularity of football. A club with so little genuine substance that they change colours & nickname on the whim of a manager, invent their own history & have to constantly remind everyone how south London & proud they are, despite literally playing in Surrey until 1965. A club the polar opposite to traditional working class clubs founded in England, ie founded by landlord, play in suburbia, have cheerleaders and ultras…

They actually hit the woodwork once with a deflected shot and had one shot on target compared to our mighty three 😉
Think they are quite similar to Donaster in 18/19. Play football, and move the ball well, but just lacked that something extra to get the job done.
I think now similar to Doncaster they'll lose their better players, manager and struggle a bit.
I think you're probably right. You've got to be bloody good to play 'champagne' football and get promoted from League One. Clean sheets and discipline will get you promoted. See 2012, 2019, 2025.
Bus Stop in Stratford. Good luck to them getting back into the playoffs with REG, Clare, DJ and the likes playing a full season for them, Kelman's goals dragged them from mid-table to the cusp of promotion, they won't replace that easily

Fair enough, I thought another one clipped the corner of post and bar but hard to tell up in the gods!

That’s what I thought (deflected shot hitting the woodwork) but I also thought they had a good shout for handball (Gilesby stuck his elbow out) from the free kick.

If there had been any real shout for handball VAR would have come in to play.

Some decisions made be VAR this season have been quite bizarre.
I was with some Orient fans who had clearly never been on a tube before on the way to the game. Busy tube and they were trying to hold loads of space and refusing to move down shouting "dont let them on" at every stop when more people tried to get on. I managed to squeeze past them and use the space.
As we were getting off I game them the old "good luck in league 1 next year fellas" they were all "thanks... wait...what NO!"
Had a table booked at The Sports Bar in Farringdon post game,we arrived,it was mobbed, barman says,"Your table is here",to which he ushers us over to a table filled with Orient fans,he promptly moved them off the table, they werent happy when they looked and saw who they had to move for😂

Better?!
his view was that we were the better team, he also said we are championship ready and they aren’t.
they had the 13th biggest budget, finished 6th and had a 13 hr drinking session at Wembley, he was disappointed by content.
