Important to get him tied down to stop Man U nicking him.

Shows he has no ambition if you ask me

Not a new contract, just an extension, so I presume no extra money, so will not have cost RD any money until his last year kicks in

Not been picked in current Wales squad for next internationals, whether on stand-by again or under 21's they have not said

SLP - we turned down a £1m bid from Swansea in the summer.

So let me get this right, we turn down £1m for Fox and only get £3.5m for Gomez! Two great decisions by the new CEO there, clearly making it up as she goes along, still by the law of averages she will get a few right.............well I can live in hope can't I?

I'd think "improved terms" means more than just another year.

Expect him to be sold in the summer. The extension probably gave him a slight increase, he will get a loyalty bonus when we sell him on, as he will have not put in a transfer request.

Works all round for everyone especially with THD having signed a new contract as well

Both figures are complete paper talk though...

How do we know that the £1m figure is correct, and its been said countless times that Gomez didnt go for £3.5m

i think fox looks like a left sided gary neville, nothing fancy, just keeps out wide and goes for the occasional overlap, obviously neville was far superior but that's the only reason i can see that fox would've been linked to man utd.

Agree completely. He's a steady Eddie. No frills. I like him

Good player no doubt but he doesn't have enough pace to deal with the really quick boys I am afraid.

Crystal Palace seemed to do very well out of hyping their homegrown young players over the last few years. Maybe we're just trying the same tactics to inflate future transfer fees.

That's true because I wouldn't offer 1m pence for Fox let alone £s and I would like to think they were offered more than that. Can't get why Swansea would want him other than for cover or to take a punt. Not sure about a comparison to a left sided Gary Neville either but I agree he doesn't offer much going forward.

He's improving but a bottom half Championship player at best which is where he is at. If you read this KM, next offer approaching £1m snatch their hands off.

Met Morgan Fox and Tony Watt on the Chistlehurst golf course yesterday. Both seemed like really pleasant young men .They both felt we were missing big Mac for his work rate, defensive qualities and link up play up front.I suppose if you are in the team you have a feel for what is going on so I will watch with interest how we do when the big man returns

Only Neville could cross, pass, tackle on both feet, lead .. Oh and he won about 10 premier leagues and 80 odd international caps

Not at 22 years old he didn't.

(Again not comparing him to GN)

He's vastly improved as a defender .. as an attacking option he leaves a LOT to be desired .. for a professional footballer, his crossing is awful .. this might just be a confidence thing .. don't panic Mr Mainwaring

That's 2 people who agree with me.

Seeing Zaha destroy Blunt today, makes you realise that Fox did a decent job on
    him,

    Eh? No he didn't
  • Thought he did ok. Steady as usual.
  • Lovely cross on his right in 1st half. Played well. Quick passes infield and forward are becoming a trademark. No pacy winger to worry him.

    rubbish.

when bergdich came on and went for a walk our left side was blown wide open, foxy for his faults would never do that.
  • Fox has developed well into a steady Championship LB, albeit doesn't bring us much attacking but the second Bergdich comes in it leaves Fox covering 2 players at a minimum. Bergdich sprints when he needs to look like he should make some ground and walk when he actually does, positionally Bergdich is one of the worst players I've seen in a long long time. Not sure Luzon's watching the same game as me to think we need him in the team at any point.

  • Well, if you can't get the ball.....
  • Blatant dive there, the linesman must be a "cheating foreigner", British linos would stay on their feet etc
