I'm surprised that the alternator belt made a knocking sound.
I thought it made a squeeling noise, if it needed adjusting (although I know bugger all about cars).
perhaps the point is covered end, however one might describe the sound, I don't believe they bothered really looking at the problem. because surely any dealer / mechanic worth any salt would of recognised the problem and fixed it.
I just think they fucked me around and it wasn't until I started doing my own research and found a nissan forum discussing the same problem I had and sent the dealer the link, they finally saw a cheap way out.
