So so gutted I couldn't be there today cos of work... was on my lunch break refreshing on twitter on oxfd st with my collegue, presumed it was all over as I saw it was 1-1, then went on twitter and was like hold up we have a corner 98th minute..... refreshed 'GOOOOOOOALLLLLL' absolotelly lost my shit, running up oxfd st celebrating scared the life out of a few poor tourist but couldn't care less. What a brilliant win. Hopefully a few more signings to come in now as we could really get somewhere this season but squad looks scarily small with these injuries....

Just read match thread. Some of you are hilarious. Heaping blame on Pope when if JBG had scored we would have been 2-0 and cruising. And in general his handling was great and was doing fine. And criticizing Charles Cook? His debut and coming on at a difficult time. He may not be good enough but he did his best. Some of you need to listen to yourselves.
It's days like this that make you remember why you love supporting Charlton and how good it is to be at a football game. Given the losses of Solly and Watt and that heat, this was a brilliant result.
They were dead on their feet by the time Hull equalised because they had given everything. It was frustrating to see the amount of time and space Hull had on the shot that Pope spilled. For me personally Pope gets little blame. No one closed down the Hull player and we risk a spillage if we give that amount of time on the ball.
It's difficult to attach any blame for me because you can see it was fatigue. I'm sure the sharper eyed of you can work out where we went wrong, but I just saw it as a team knackered.
Having got their bit out the way, let's focus on how superb we were. For me I'll start with Bauer and Diarra. They are immense. I'm sure Sarr is a decent player but he'll have to work very hard to dislodge either of them. Kashi was class, always showing, always wanting. Despite the odd misplaced touch, hats off to big Mak. He was superb in that second half. Nice lay off for JBG for him to cross and then a great header to score the first. That second was just superb all round. Great leap and the desire from JBG to get in the box.
I want to write more about how good the likes of KAG was as well but I am buzzing.

Even with this good performance, the sooner we get rid of players that are not wanted by Luzon: Nego, Polish Pete, Tucudean, Bikey, probably Harriot, and get in the players that will make us stronger
Absolutely buzzing from that. Same situation last season and we would have ended up losing. It's not just the quality of the players brought in (though we ended up with loads of Academy lads on the field) it's the spirit of the team. Pleased for big Mak and what a cross from JBG. I didn't doubt we would get the 2nd (which is some leap of faith).
I thought we were well in control of that game until Ba went off and then there was more space for them in the middle. I thought Diarra and Bauer were immense today and with that foundation at the back it bodes well for this season. Also, Kashi and Ba (until he went off) had the midfield pretty much sewn up.
JBG was all over the place and deserved his goal for his perseverance if for nothing else. Big Mak grew into the game and was outstanding the second half.
To have won that with all the injuries before and during the game says a lot for the character of the squad and also Guy Luzon.
That is a good point Cabbles, i was quite annoyed with the team in the minutes leading up to the Hull goal for sitting back but it probably was just tiredness setting in after a battling performance in that sun.

Saw two things you rarely see from JBG today. A right footed cross from the byline and a header.
Kashi was great again, Diarra was class, Bauer brave and they all worked their bits off.
Pope will get slated by some but one spill from a close range shot. Otherwise did fine despite a beating up from Hull. Stay strong Nick and learn from today.
Hull didn't impress. Nothing until our injuries took our midfield away.
We are a good side but those injuries are hurting. Need cover at RB and another striker/winger at least.
This could be a very interesting season if Luzon is backed in the transfer market.
Had to love him joining in the celebrations for the winner. Real unity in the squad it seems from how they celebrated the goal and at the final whistle.
When I saw the two teams I thought that we'd do well to avoid a shoeing.
To have had the start we have had is an amazing accomplishment by the staff and players.
To think that we were second favourites for relegation; people will quickly wake up and realise that we have picked up some very decent players this summer to add to some quality ones that we already had (credit is due for this too). We could have the makings of a very special team here - exciting, isn't it?

I thought they were knackered mate. They all had to do so much off the ball. I can't see why for so long we throwing bodies in the way and winning the middle, only for us to stop doing it. Someone mentioned above losing Ba was a big loss and GL had a hard decision to make with CC. Do you play him at RB where he probably would've been targeted more or do you hope in the centre of the midfield he can hold his own and look busy. Unfortunately it was a horrible game and time for him to come on, given Hull's size and strength and he did look out of place, but it's his first league game, he did all he could. We were cut hard and deep by injuries to the point where I was looking at KAG like he'd been a first team regular and forgetting he's only 17.
That is why I can't heap enough praise on all of them as a team. First class.
What can I say. This is a team full of such promise and I don't think we are up to speed yet. Luzon is such a positive coach. Big Mak was magnificent. Injuries to very key players seemed to make little difference to the outlook of the team. Buzzing. I want to see their goal again before I comment on Nick.
I recorded this so I thought I would relive the last 15 minutes all over again, gloat at the victory and savor the celebrations. Really looking forward to that, only to find the last 5 minutes were cut off. Because so much time had been added, the recording finished.

'Watched' via Twitter in a beach bar in Estepona...celebrated by buying the whole bar a drink when it refreshed to 'gggggoooooaaalllll' after the corner... Fortunately for me, the only other person in the bar was my father in law who gladly accepted his 'small Cruzcampo'... Very, very pleased here in the sun.
You gotta love the passion of our head coach. Celebrated with the players as if he'd scored the winner himself and got sent to the stands for his trouble. Simon Makienok will now affectionately be known as Hamlet. He is the king of Denmark. Only downside today was GL's decision to play RCC in central midfield. That put us on the back foot for the last 15 mins. Still, that aside, a fantastic performance and a fantastic win. Onwards and upwards ....
