Hi!
I'm Eric Lancelottes grand daughter Harriet and was interested if any of you have any more info or articles on him? Already seen the one 'how to become a football star.' Love football and miss my grandad so any info would be amazing!
Thanks!

Had the privilege to meet him at the unveiling of the Bartram Statue in 2005. Got his autograph in my Valiant 500 book which I think he was slightly surprised to be asked for. Lovely old man but very frail and almost blind. Would have been about 88.
I'm told he always took a great interest in the club and was instrumental in getting Keith Peacock to join Charlton.
The records tell us he played 41 times for Charlton just before and after world war 2, all in the top division. He scored 7 goals
He guested for Brighton, Millwall, Stockport and Watford during the war during which he served in the RAF.
After he left Charlton he played for Brighton for two seasons and was later assistant manager of Bexleyheath and Welling.
We have a museum at the club and there may well be photographs and other items there relating to your father. I will have a look next time I'm there.
Would love to hear any stories you have or see any papers etc that are in the family.

My Dad remembers your grandfather well and speaks fondly of him.
Just after the war my dad lived in Flaxton Road, Plumstead and Eric would often stop and talk to him and my uncle on his way home - they were both young boys at the time. When we reached the cup final in 1947 Eric gave a couple of tickets to my grandfather who took my uncle to the famous match - my own dad deemed to be too young!
Dad met Eric again at the unveiling of the Sam Bartram statue and spoke at length with him - I think he was pleased to be remembered from his playing days during such a successful time in the club's history.
While way before my time, I have a sheet of autographs, Eric's included, from the cup final team that your grandfather had arranged for my Dad.
I hope you get to uncover plenty of articles/pictures etc about your grandfather.
My grandad to this day is the nicest and most influential man I have ever met! Unfortunately when he passed away my dad, Keith peacock and I layed his ashes in the corner of Charltons ground. Exactly where he would love to be.
Thanks again all and keep the stories coming!
