Still think Euell should have been given the job on an interim.
KF knows the Valley...so does Jase, pretty well KF knows the Players...so does Jase KF is part of the 'network'...so is Jase kind of
Jase knows the club, the values, played and scored for us and knows players from first team, to his youth side. Jase recently got his A licence I believe.
Why have we had nothing from the club... are they so short staffed they can't even organise a press conference for the new boss... When Luzon joined we got a short video of him taking his first training session as did Riga so why the radio silence now..
I wanna hear what the guy has to say.. what his ideas are and what he says about the squad.. will certainly give us a chance to see if he will stand up to RD or not..
And I also wanna see what Katrien has to say about it...
I reckon KM hasn't got the words to justify why KF is being brought in and why we are on our 4th manager of their reign. They won't know how to spin this at all

Yes, no shot of happy players working hard with the new guy.
No statement from Fraeye
No comment about the process they'll use to pick the new head coach (even if nobody believes it)

Clearlry even they know this will go down like a lead balloon (or like Charlton down the table) and are trying to keep it low profile. With two away games before he has to face The Valley, I suspect KM is hoping he gets a result of sorts from one of them to dissipate a probable frosty/hostile reception against Sheffield Wednesday
I've sat with my Dad in the same season ticket seats since I was 6, so 21-22 years now. A run we're both proud of.
Even he said the other day that he is thinking of not renewing if this crap continues. It genuinely hurts to think that these pricks are ruining such a love of the club that we all have for it as fans. Livid.
Edit. Sorry - just another bout of anger come over me about this absolute bull$hit we are going through.
Don't worry mate, I keep going from laughing at the situation to being completely livid. I'm sure others are doing the same.
Ditto, its laughable how bad it is. I also try to think, it could be worse we could be X, Y, or Z other club but truth is I couldn't care less what other clubs are doing.
Fraeye is cheap and prosperous option for RD. He runs his scouting and networking scheme in Europe which means he is a man who clearly buys into RD's philosophies when it comes to running his football clubs, he will most likely have him on some sort of retainer from his other and previous work for him which means he doesn't have to pay a club off for his services and doesn't have to pay to agree a new contract with him straight off, especially as he's hired him as 'interim head coach'.
Of course, he's likely to be far more than that. There's no reference to when, and even if, a search for a new manager will take place. Just like with the transfer mandate this keeps costs down for RD, he gets to keep his cards close to his chest about his true motivations with how he runs things and the whole thing looks like a politicians old boys club. I sincerely doubt Fraeye left a permanent coaching position for a temporary one and the viewpoint is if he can scrape together some results they will appoint him long-term or at least until the juncture where RD either thinks the club as a whole can make him some money, and if not he will most likely pull and dump us like he did Standard Liege. Chances are fortunes will change and we will stay up, not down nearly as much to any of RD or Fraeye's foresight, but more because our squad is at least good enough, just, to avoid relegation and then we can repeat this mess again next year, or he sells us for a pittance and we find out exactly how much debt he has piled on the club to try and make us a profitable business for him and it hasn't worked...
There is a very small part of me that thinks relegation may be the only way away from this madcap dictator and his merry hench-lady. Of course that potentially brings it's own threat of financial ruin but you struggle to sell on players from League One for such profits and the club and stadia aren't as attractive, isn't it sad though that that my considered some form of a desirable option?
Olly Groome's piece on the website made me snigger. Don't you just hate the cringey, public relations b******t chapter and versue clubs try and use these days to bump up the decisions they've made? "Fraeye masterminded our escape from relegation in 2014, alongside Jose Riga." Oh frig me, someone pass me the sick bucket. A honeymoon period if ever there was one, a gluttony of due extra games, healthy players again and signings Chris Powell was never presented with the chance to make. Riga and Fraeye were that good in the owners eyes of course that they weren't even offered the position permanently at the end of the season and Fraeye, the second in command, has made it all the way to the dizzy heights of the Belgian football third tier since.
I think the thing that bothers me most is this information coming through that Fraeye is the preferred choice for permanent manager. If they'd just taken a look, decided that Matthew was part of the failed group and brought Fraeye in so someone would be in charge until they got a proper manager in then it would be weird, but at least in some part understandable. What doesn't make any sense is this idea that they've brought him in as an interim coach with a view to just handing him the job. He's essentially on trial, with those in charge praying he does just enough to justify keeping him there. In what kind of other scenario can you imagine this happening? When you bring a player in on trial (like we have with Pennant and Ameobi) you have him link up with the squad, train, and appear in pre-season friendlies or u21 games. You don't throw them into important league matches until you've fully assessed their worth to the club. You don't pick up some random kid from Dulwich Hamlet, give him five games up front then decide he's rubbish and say 'ok, we'll start looking for a proper striker now, that experiment didn't work' because that would be insane. RD and KM have just picked up a mate with no relevant experience and are crossing their fingers that it works out, and if not sod it, we'll have to actually interview someone. All the while precious points could be slipping away.
This is the Network plan at its most experimental and it's genuine, honest to god nutcasery. We always hear that RD is a good businessman not a football man, but this nonsense wouldn't even fly in a business context. Can you imagine the conversation that preceded this??
'Katrien, wouldn't it be great if that lad I like just turned out to be the answer to all our problems and we didn't have to actually do anything like thinking or interviewing or spending. Dick it, let's just give him the job'. 'You mean...the actual manager's job?' 'Yeah, but like, on an interim basis. So that if he actually is as rubbish as he looks we can just sack him, say we were 'going through a phase' and then refuse to ever talk about it'. '...' 'Yeeeeah, I'm getting crazy with football. Average squad age of 7! Swapping players for magic beans so my rivals can't afford shoes! Managers picked on a rota basis from Argos's stock room! Women in charge!' 'Uh, what was that last one?' 'Night Katrien, don't email me!'
Just found this statue in Reykjavik. I didn't understand the description, but I'm assuming it's called 'The Charlton Fan'. Just a shame I didn't have a scarf for him.
Presumably there will be press day at the training ground on Thursday.
My first question to Karel would be 'Which Middlesbrough players do we need to be wary of?'
Do you think Middlesbrough will line up in a 4-2-3-1 system & will it be Downing in the middle of the three? Will we set up to counter their system? ( If not, are you going to risk 4 v 5 in midfield?
What plans do you have for Nugent, Fabbrini and Stuani?
The Central Midfield pair of Clayton & Leadbitter are English style midfielders, do you think it's important to have an English spine with Championship experience?
Boro are very good on set plays. Ayala & Amorebieta are both strong in the air. How much have you studied their corner kick routines and will we go zonal or man-for-man.
Carol is obviously a tactical mastermind - so no problem with any of that.

Quick question. I understand it was Phil Chappell's job to scout the opposition. Now that Phil Chappell's gone is anyone scouting the opposition ? Fraye and his side kick, probably know zip about Middlesborough. Is anyone doing this job now ?
