I think they'll be ringing round desperately trying to find a driver with a nice fat sponsorship deal to go with it personally, and Fittipaldi will be the last resort
Haas drop Uralkali and Mazepin. Announcement early next week on driver
Obviously they needed to be sure they weren’t open to any legal ramifications, but once they were satisfied, this must’ve been the easiest decision they’ve ever made.
Make no mistake about this: Mazepin was dropped because he’s a shit driver, not because of the war. The war and the subsequent sanction of daddy’s company isn’t the reason he was dropped, it was simply the reason they were able to drop him. If he was a good driver, you can bet your last ruble they’d have kept him on. If anyone claims this particular case is unfair on “innocent Russian athletes”, they’re talking out the back of their head. He should never have been there in the first place and the war just facilitated his removal.

You say that, but isn't that why Fittipaldi is their Test Driver?
He's basically another Mazepin, but comes with a load of Brazilian Sponsorship.
Hope they get an experienced driver in. Can’t be good for Micks development being the senior driver.
I agree in that Mick still needs to learn. An old head beside him would be a gift when compared to what’s just been binned. Then again, having my 13 year old daughter as teammate would be an improvement on him. On the other hand, some drivers develop and grow more when their team’s focus is almost exclusively on them. Even from a young age. Max Verstappen being a case in point. Another example is a certain Michael Schumacher. So we can’t say Mick doesn’t have the pedigree… 😄

Partially true but I’m not convinced by your take in its entirety.
It helps that he was shit, but they haven't dropped him just because of that, they've dropped him because he can no longer pay for the seat through his Dad's business sponsoring them, and no other sponsor would join them in these times if there's any Russian links with the team.

Well, ok. Fair enough. But as much as the team felt the financial body blow of the war more than most, they must’ve considered the newly available option of offloading little Nicky to be a small silver lining. 😎
"Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has accused rivals Mercedes of "bullying" behaviour resulting in the exit of race director Michael Masi."
Is this the guy that pretty much bullied Masi into making the decision that won his driver the title? Ok then.
Also the same guy that whipped up the mob after Silverstone - Which resulted in Red Bull having to issue out an anti-racism statement. Bloke is an idiot, who believes his own hype purely thanks to Drive to Survive.
Oh yea, there was also that rogue Marshall in Qatar that Horner got a slapped wrist over...
If Horner is aware of how much of a twat he's being, then he's a bit of a dick. If he is unaware of how much of a twat he is being, and thinks he's in the right, then he's a total dick.

Sounds like Antonio Giovinazzi will replace Mazepin if that becomes a possibility.
All happening this morning. Guenther Steiner saying he will resolve Uralkali and Mazepin's futures with the team next week, but certainly sounded like both could be dropped. Cited legal issues to work through #F1#F1Testing
What's Hulkenberg up to these days, or the two old Haas driver - Grosjean and Eriksen. Could they get Kubica from Alfa through the Ferrari connections?
Called it, although I realised this morning that when I posted this I wrote Eriksen when I meant Magnussen (and misspelled Ericsson). The memory isn't what it used to be since I turned 40!
Sochi was almost duller than Monaco so this is a great result, albeit insignificant in context of the terrible circumstances it took to bring it about.

Certainly isn't F1 material like you say.
But think the correct decision would be for Alpine to get Oscar Piastri into that seat.

Might be unable to make it in time for the first day of testing on Thursday

Twat
Haas sign Kevin Magnussen on a multiyear deal
Absolutely. Gives Mick an excellent benchmark to go against
