  • 15 minutes into Q1 and Latifi has spun off on one lap and crashed on another. Although the crash was Stroll's fault for clearly not looking and turning into Latifi's rear wheel.
Yeah Stroll is an absolute twat for that incident. Even more so when his Engineers busted their arses to get his car even ready for Quali

Latifi is constantly causing problems. 4 races in a row.

    Well done Leclerc

Sainz unlucky sounds like he had an issue

Mercedes would have been 7th and 8th if it weren't for Alonso and Sainz

Stroll’s interview about it was embarrassing. “It was…awkward…”.
Jeez, the only awkward thing going on there was Stroll being on camera trying to downplay how much at fault he was. Take responsibility you massive dickhead.
  • A lot more promising today for the Mercedes Power Unit.

Was no where in the first two races, yet they've got four cars into the top ten.

If Mercedes can get a decent package together they could be up there.

    COULD!!

Feel a bit for Sainz there. Perfectly good lap deleted through no fault of his own. That’s what the rules say though.
Maybe he cracked a bit under pressure afterwards, but still unlucky for him.

Thank god for Leclerc who is making this season bearable otherwise Mad Max would have a clear run.

Think Max will be quicker on the long run tomorrow.

Sainz is barrelling head first into Ferrari Second Driver syndrome at the moment.

McLaren have had a huge jump. I think a lot will hinge on Mercs first update in Imola. If McLaren can move so much between Bahrain and here then you have to expect Merc to move a fair bit. Then again RB and Ferrari won’t stand still.

Russell and Lewis did a good job. Both had two runs, both had a go at the tow. Think they maximised that car but my god it looks horrible to drive.
  • Hopefully we see a good fight between Norris and Russell tomorrow

From what I've seen of these cars, and how easy they seem to be to put in the wall, especially at turn 11, it wouldn't surprise me to see someone lower down make a charge up the field and take a podium. Sainz in 9th is the obvious one, or Alonso, who's car looked really dialled in before he hit the aforementioned wall

Thinking about the porpoising problems, that seriously can't be good for a drivers brain over a race weekend

Looked absolutely horrendous in the onboard footage during qualifying. As the commentators.said, how they can still see the apex of corners is amazing

That tops off a disastrous weekend for Sainz.
  • This could be a fun battle for 4th between the British lads
  • Where the hell had this Mercedes come from!!
  • How many tyre changes does Stroll need? 24 laps in and he's had 3!

Got rid of the medium within one lap

Hard was never going to take him to the end of the race

    Ta-ta Verstappen.
    😎
  • WOW... Bet Perez will be nervous now.

    Lets see a Russell podium!!
  • Leclerc is going to walk this title if RB don't sort out their reliability and Merc don't sort out their chassis

I’m certainly not a Ferrari fan, but to be fair to them, they seem to have simply prepared for the season better.
And I’d much rather see LeClerc as world champ than Verstappen.
  • Ferrari and Red Bull with just one car in the race

This is suiting Mercedes in the Constructors
  • Got a feeling that Lewis doesn't like being behind Russell - Am glad that Mercedes aren't telling the latter to let him past.

Although given the radio exchange prior to Perez getting past Russell - I dont actually think that he would listen.

Leclerc is gonna take some catching. Nice guy and driving well so what’s not to like?

Curious how the RB / Merc pace swings around….. if Imolas update number 1 does anything serious things could start to get closer with them two but Ferrari looks like it’s really driving within itself

Great to see Ferrari back at the top. Great to see Verstappen go out. I do have a feeling Mercedes will unlock the potential within a few races and if so these points could be very valuable to them.

A bit too early in the season to really mean anything, but it’s nice that both Hamilton and Verstappen are behind their teammates in the standings.
Neither of them will like that and I’m sure they’ll both continue to get the priority treatment from their teams, but it would be interesting if Perez and/or Russell are still ahead later in the season - would Verstappen and Hamilton be forced to suck it up and play second fiddle?

Hamilton finished behind Russell due to bad luck. I don't think he will be too upset. Later in the season it could get juicy.

Perez is having a great season in that regard, he's not being slaughtered in Quali this season

Just needs to try and get closer with his race craft.
