I'm amazed Ferrari managed to get a 4-5 out of that, only 1 stopping and making it work
I’m beginning to think that Leclerc isn’t as good as his hype.
At the moment he puts too much pressure on himself and makes fairly rookie mistakes. Isn't helped by Ferrari Strategy calls being patchy but something isn't right there with him
I think as well, the start to the season last year showed what he can do if everything comes together for him
However the moment something goes slightly wrong - He doubts himself.
Verstappen wasn't the finished article for a good while either, its crazy to remember that this is his ninth year in F1
Although his seventh year coincided with him winning his first title... Leclerc is a year away from that...

Both Sainz and Leclerc are guilty of binning it multiple times in pressure situations, and that's compounded by Ferrari's inability to come up with any sort of decent strategy whatsoever. In the last 15 years they've had a car capable of winning the title 4 or 5 times, and have had people like Alonso and Vettel, multiple world champs, driving for them, and they still can't get one.
I agree Leclerc seems to have gone backwards, I wouldn't be surprised to see Ferrari make a huge offer for Hamilton to try and lead them to a WDC
Red Bull wont mind that Perez is losing out to Verstappen but they will mind that he is not coming second when that happens. He needs to get his act together
My sense is they’re not too bothered they are literally all about Verstappen and Perez underperforming helps both soften the ‘Red Bill’ domination cries and avoid in house conflict with Max. They’ll still walk the constructor championship regardless.
Serious slice of luck for Olly Bearman in the feature race, with a late safety car rescuing his whole weekend with a 5th place from nowhere.
Yeah good recovery on those Super Softs.
He needs to sort out his Qualifying - It feels he's either starting from Pole, and winning the race... Or well outside the top ten, and barely getting points.
Shame about the VSC, reckon he'd have got P3 had that not happened
Been some good racing from the F3 and F2 this morning, before the fun of F1 later hmm

Always make sure that I watch the F2 races and usually the F3, as definitely more entertaining than F1.

Shame that VER is likely going to end up winning both races today too lol!

Crazy that there is less than a second between the top 9 in qualifying. I guess cutting the corners and going over the kerbs properly can be worth 2-3 places...

They'll be very happy with his race today. Podium finish after starting 15th.
FIA have just handed out a ton of retrospective penalties for track limits...
Top three survive... Either because there wasnt anything wrong (Perez seemed to take the piss a bit), or they're just scared of changing the podium positions
Ridiculous as I'm sure Ocon would have been warned for example, that he was close to further penalties, if he knew about track limit warnings
Was Ocon driving the old layout or something? That's ridiculous and I'm surprised by Alpine not being all over him on the radio for it
Would Alpine have known, if the Stewards weren't handing out warnings?
This is what seems so confusing, was there some kind of tech failure? Because Aston must have spotted something to go to the stewards in the first place. All seems very very odd.

Unless Aston decided to take a chance, and lodge a random appeal
Merc pretty much did similar @ Abu Dhabi 2021, by claiming that Verstappen passed Hamilton ahead of the SC restart, but it got dismissed.
If that is the case, then I wont be surprised if the other teams lodged similar appeals at most tracks going forward.
They have a tracker on the pitwall that has a list of times getting deleted.
Aston Martin went through it and went "hang on, Ocon had one penalty but his car number is on this list like 20 times" and lodged the appeal, realising they'll jump up the standings because of it

Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney and Michael B Jordan part of a group that's brought 25% of Alpine
Young 18-year old Dutch Driver has been killed @ Spa in the Formula Regional Championship
Almost an identical crash to the one that saw Anthonie Hubert lose his life, not far from the very same place

9 races so far
8 out of 9 poles
6 out of 9 fastest laps
9 wins out of 9
I'll have a stab in the dark...
Was it Verstappen again?
Sigh.
