  • Ferrari are gutted. They had a solid gold plan to out fox the opposition by starting on slicks.
  • So 2026 so far we'll have:

    Red Bull (Ford)
    Aston Martin (Honda)
    Ferrari (Ferrari)
    Mercedes (Mercedes)
    Sauber (Audi)
    Alpine (Renault)
    Alpha Tauri
    McLaren
    Williams
    Haas

With Andretti (Cadillac) looking to enter too, and Porsche lurking in the shadows.

  • Toto had always said he wanted to supply less teams and I always thought it would be Williams that moved either to Honda or Alpine power.

Guess Lawrence Stroll thinks the only way for Aston to truly challenge at the front is to have a " works" engine deal.
  • Here's hoping the Mercedes upgrades debuting this weekend make a huge difference.
Not just for Mercedes but for the state of F1.  We need to see progression from the rest of the grid to rein in the Red Bulls to stop it being a snooze fest.

Heavy dose of irony given we're at Monaco this week ;)

To be fair this track is boring, but for me its a different type of skill on show here, and always enjoy it.

Especially if we get rain in Quali and midway through Sunday
  • oh god I forgot it was Monaco.  Yawn.
  • Anyone hear the other week about the possible revival of a1 gp ? A great series that was.
  • I wonder if they'll stick to the original idea of it being a World Cup of drivers, from what I can remember quite a few big names took part at some point

I reckon so. Pretty much the same format apparently.  Hope they continue using the v8s on the biofuels. As a series it was well ahead of the curve.
  • Because it is so difficult to overtake any car, the qualifying becomes more exciting. Also, the track brings the difference to the Red Bull in a bit so it is hard to perdict who will get pole which will help.

Both F3 and F2 have been very processional today.

Doesnt give us any hope for the F1 tomorrow, if the Junior series can behave round here.

Only the rain can save it

    Monaco Quali is f**king outstanding!!

Which of course ends with Verstappen on pole... What an effort from Alonso though
  • Shame he pulled it out of the bag, I would have loved to see him trundle along in 5th trying to pass Ocon, the Ferraris and Alonso
  • I think Mercedes will be reasonably happy with that, let’s face it, it wasn’t a suitable circuit at which to fine tune their all important upgrades, I think there’s more to come from them over the next few months. 🤞🤞🤞

Dare I say it but I think it will prove to be way more exciting than the race itself.

Yeah need rain to arrive, after the race starts for proper drama

Imagine it'll show up when Verstappen is down in P8 after a bad start, with the drama putting him straight back into P1 again - Bloke has unbelivable luck
  • Only saving grace is that we've seen Hamilton, Norris, Sainz and Perez all in the barriers this weekend already, so perhaps we'll get drama from that.

Indy 500 will be the one to watch tomorrow though in reality

Can't imagine a worse day of motorsport than Monaco GP followed by Indy 500.

Will be at Brands Hatch tomorrow for the masters historic meeting, really not bothered about Monaco at all. Will definitely be watching the Indy though, it’s a really good race series and the 500 is on my bucket list.
  • Leclerc gets a three place grid penalty after impeding Norris in Q3

He gets no luck around Monaco does he
  • Bearman is making Monaco interesting all by himself

Passed four cars on Lap One, then overcut four cars via. the pits, albeit loses a place to Iwasa on cold tyres

He'd have been fighting for the win surely if he hadnt fucked his Quali
  • Proper F1 cars

There needs to be a love button for this type of content
  • Quite a fun race for Monaco in the end.

Victor Martins though, how the hell he didnt get Black Flagged for almost killing two Marshalls is ridiculous. Great job from Race Control, to basically split the field so he wasnt overly penalised.

Harsh on Bearman, who had an excellent race... thats the luck of the Safety Car though

  • Took the missus away for a nice weekend break this weekend. Said I had found a Hilton in Northamptonshire. Nice restaurant. Bar.

Just so happens our room also has a view of the start line at Silverstone. Minor details. She loved being woken up by 1970s F2 cars at 9am 😂

Sadly I have said that about every race this season. Love a bit of qualifying but the actual race, meh
  • We have rain in Monaco, it looks absolute carnage on half the track

Race currently stopped, 14 lap shoot out left after a crash. Incredible in car footage of Kyle Kirkwood travelling upside down after clipping a car and flipping.
