I guess if GP knows Red Bull have absolutely messed up this reg set and Max is out the door at the end of the season , then a year's gardening leave and reuniting with all the senior Red Bull hires at McLaren could be very tempting, given Aston signed Jonathan Wheatley instead.ForeverAddickted said:Da f**k did that come from!!
Stella to Ferrari is the bizarre bit , yes he had 14 years at Ferrari before joining McLaren but Fred hasn't really done anything that wrong to be potentially out the door.
The only bit I can't add up and obviously no one deserves to know is GPs personal situation at least over the winter was erring towards him wanting to be factory based and not having to be at the track every race weekend.1 -
Not quite sure what the TP actually does at McLaren, as Zack seems to be very hands on.0
-
From what's been said in interviews, all the racing decisions are down to Andrea and Zak does all the business/sponsorship stuff.Rizzo said:Not quite sure what the TP actually does at McLaren, as Zack seems to be very hands on.
Would expect GP wouldn't even talk to them if he didn't have assurances about what his role would entail0 -
Now on BBC. GP as assistant to AS. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/articles/cedexn47qzloMarcusH26 said:Absolute bombshell dropping this morning from Dutch journos (so they got it from Max's camp)
Gianpiero Lambiase to join McLaren as Team Principal for 2028.
Think this is probably the final nail in Max leaving.
Andrea Stella to Ferrari as TP is now doing the rounds too.0 -
It's a really interesting one setup wise at McLaren because it does feel like it could be a bit too many cooks with the amount of managerial level signings they've made.CafcWest said:

But if you get the chance to sign GP and weaken Red Bull ever further you do it and figure it all out later.0 -
McLaren have about 12 people at the top now, it's ridiculous0
-
Yeah I don't fully know how it all works , 3 Technical Directors with their own specialism , effectively 2 Team Principals (I don't buy the CEO thing with Zak) , bringing Will Courtenay from Red Bull as Sporting Director for this season , already having a head of Race Strategy in Randy Singh. It just feels like a lot of overlaps.sam3110 said:McLaren have about 12 people at the top now, it's ridiculous
And people think football clubs can have complicated senior management setups 😅0 -
F2 will race in Miami and Montreal next month, after Bahrain and Jeddah were cancelledStill waiting on what'll happen with F3 though, but at least something has been found for F2 at the very least.0

This interview with Norris is remarkable, not because of anything he says but because of the way his PR team intervene

That's a really bizarre intervention. Not being able to ask about the new regs, Max or George is really weird to have as off limits topics.fenaddick said:This interview with Norris is remarkable, not because of anything he says but because of the way his PR team intervene

I'm surprised at times that Lando hasn't spoken with George about his approach to having a psychiatristProbably because they're all trying to get the edge over each otherWatched a High Performance interview with Ollie Bearman pre-season, and even he was saying that he doesnt feel like he can talk to those on the Grid about his down moments, even when Jake Humphrey suggested that he ask one of the older drivers to "mentor" him a bit, as he's got a good friendship it seems with Carlos Sainz so you'd think he'd be an obvious choice.0

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2026/apr/21/lando-norris-interview-f1-mclaren?CMP=share_btn_urlReally isn’t a good look from his management team.
Interesting that the reporter was pissed off enough to report it in detail in this way; Critical of the manager on the phone, but made a bit of a point of making the whippersnapper in the room seem like an obnoxious little oik .1 -
Donald Macrae doesn't really take any shit. He's the go to Guardian interviewer for their big weekend paper. He's reached a point where he's so successful he can call out whoever he wants. Never seen him quite so annoyed thoughlordromford said:MarcusH26 said:

It just reads incredibly stage managed as if they can't trust Lando not to say something even slightly off the party line. Which is weird because most of his interviews he's remarkably honest and open about things.
Really really bad look for his management.1 -
Is this the same part of Lando's "Management Team" that also manages Freddie Slater?MarcusH26 said:lordromford said:MarcusH26 said:

Probably, the interviewer did make it clear it wasn't McLaren PR. They've got Lando , Freddie , Ugo, Jake Dennis and a few others on their books.ForeverAddickted said:

Maybe not for much longer. Reporting made them look like proze tools and didnt reflect well on Lando or Mclaren or Formula One either.I know Formula One have been putting some pressure on the drivers to not criticise the regs but if it is reported like this its almost worse.0

Absolute disaster for Aston in Sprint Qualifying. Stroll doesn't set any time and Alonso is 12 seconds off.
Wheatley can't come soon enough as TP0 -
Absolutely mega job from Antonelli again. Just needs to get it off the line this time.1

F1 showing some common sense and moving race start time to 6pm to avoid thunderstorms2

Thank goodness I read this thread!
I would’ve completely missed it.
Quite annoying though, because I was planning to watch Spurs get beaten before switching onto the F1.

Sounds like the storm has arrived in Miami early, be interesting if the F2 goes ahead shortly.0

F2 delivers an absolute classic. What a race.1

Miami has been an absolute banger of a track for F2Cant wait to see them at Montreal0

Or even leave Bahrain in there, and put Austin / Interlagos in that stupid gap between Baku and QatarMarcusH26 said:
