I think they are going to have to do better with the graphics on battery charge almost need them every time you have a close up of a car or a duel1

An intriguing race, though hards certainly lived up to their description and the last 15 laps was a bit of nothingness. Not a big Mercedes fan, but do find George likeable so won’t be disappointed if he has a great year. I won’t rule out Max though. A top 6 quali and I think he would have been in the mix here1

I don't think they would have been tbh, Mercedes were way quicker all weekend and if Ferrari pitted at the VSC they'd have been overtaken by them anyway, their only chance at a win was hoping the tyres fell off a cliff after 30 laps but they just didn't.Alwaysneil said:So Ferrari did fuck that up. No big surprise there, hamilton in particular who wanted to stop under VSC must be fuming. No guarantee they would have done any better but theyd have been closer.
Very telling that Mercedes were lapping similar times on tyres 15 laps older1 -
Only way this season could be a disaster for me, is if we see 2023 levels of domination from RussellHaving one driver winning pretty much every race, and by 15-20 secs the majority of the time, disappearing off into the sunset after winning pole position... Yeah not great... I hope a lot of F1 fans (not talking on here), who enjoyed that dominating run from Verstappen remember that before they start complaining this coming year.0

Didn't think it was a bad start really. Those first 10 or so laps were great fun. Ferrari Strategy had to strike again as usual.
McLaren look a bit in no man's land

I think if the ferrari had pitted under VSC, at least one car, they wouldve been close enough to see some more overtaking even if mercedes won in the end.
mclaren have the mercedes engine but the new engines are so sodding complex they probably dont understand it well enough to get the best out of it. They're a good team though and wouldnt surprise me if they get closer jn about 3/4 races time0 -
Not all about engines though, Cadillac and Haas have that Ferrari engine and I didn't see them taking 5 or 6 places at the start.Alwaysneil said:I think if the ferrari had pitted under VSC, at least one car, they wouldve been close enough to see some more overtaking even if mercedes won in the end.

I think China will be different again with more medium and low speed corners, battery recharge won't be much of an issue.
Interesting that Lando reckons Ferrari have the best chassis, can't quite tell how he saw that from 30s+ behind them but there we go0 -
Just watched the highlights bonkers that Ferrari didn't pit in one of the VSC. What a disaster for Piastri as well in his home race0

I think Ferrari should have pitted one car in the VSC to mix up the strategy but doing so wouldn't have affected the race as it turned out as Mercedes were a bit too strong. Hamilton is right back in it and technical issues in qualifying probably cost him third, but being back in it doesn't help with the Mercedes advantage.
It seems you can overtake with these new cars but pay for using the battery more a few corners later and lose your place. Having said that things will differ track to track so the jury is still probably out.1 -
Be interesting to see how it works with the long back straight in China. Would expect a lot of clipping and it being quite challenging to defend.2

I know it's nothing but the sound of the cars is bloody boring. Not far off from Formula E. I know it's about the racing but I love the engine roar. Or at least I did.0
