    Not checking again but I think I read that a year ago it was calculated you could build £2.5 billion worth of flats on it.

    At least, given the size of the plot of land and the location next to a park, a shopping centre and a huge transport hub in Stratford

    The financial benefit to WH from the stadium lease being effectively in perpetuity will be reflected in the price of WH shares. Guess what - the taxpayer only got a share of the profits on the sale of WH if it was sold within 5 years (from memory) of the signing of the stadium contract.

    I see those cheeky claret n blue porn barons are about to dip into public funds once more. Gleefully nose bagging into Mayor Khant''s pot of gold to upgrade the London Stadium.

    Does anyone have further knowledge or links? I have unsuccessfully tried to back track and find where the hell I saw this.  I may of course halucinated the whole thing but a stink is a stink and as a tax payer, i hold a grudge.

    Unfortunately it's been so long and they've had it off with so much taxpayers money already, I doubt many people care anymore.

    Looks like it is being upgraded by the LLDC, rather than West Ham, but obviously being there ground they will benefit anyway.

    Of course, West Ham will tout this as evidence of their commitment to addressing climate change (and will probably claim it for any carbon off-setting that they are supposed to do).
