Glad to see the Clarke-Harris rumor being knocked back. He's definitely a decent player and a good prospect, and 1.5-2m isn't much these days, especially for potential. That said, a quick center forward isn't quite what we need at the moment, and rumors of attitude problems precede him.
What we really need is someone who can create, especially from a central position (either in central midfield, as a #10, or starting wide and tucking in). It seems from the first couple matches that Jose wants us pressing high up the pitch, and looking to counter, so a quick winger might also do the job. If it's Gnabry, I saw great, he's definitely got the tools, but I always fear with a player of that type that you'll get inconsistency, and I think we have enough nearly there wingers.
Also, hope RVT and Moussa are out the door. Wish all the best to Moussa, definitely talented, just unfortunate with injuries, and I wonder if he's truly fit these days. With RVT, it was the best option of a bad lot back in November (how we found ourselves in that position is another story), but it hasn't worked out. He has a reputation for not giving a toss, and seems to have proved it here.
Almost certain that this striker signing will be Makienok. Then the club will claim its some massive breaking news story. As if we couldn't just get him in the summer anyway.
We've upped our bid for Clarke-Harris to 2 mill apparently. Also linked to Mikkel Duelund of FC Midtjylland.
Quote about Dueland from Daily Express Tope 30 european prospects "Mikkel Duelund: Described as Christian Eriksen with an ego, the Danish midfielder has good vision and loves to run with the ball. Has resisted the temptation of signing for a bigger club in order to gain more experience"

Why buy him now when we already have an option to sign him in summer? Could break his leg or do his knee in next week! Crazy decision if true.
"Elegant attacking midfielder or winger, has technique, shooting and eye for the goal, has a good reading of the game and personality. In his country compared him to Christian Eriksen and was named by the Guardian in the list of 40 best world prospects born in 1997."

This is never going to happen is it.....
is it?
I've actually seen him play here in Denmark. He is a bloody talented lad. I will be very pleased if we sign him!
Maybe one for the "general things that annoy you" thread......
but why the hell is it always left so late? The transfer window has been open all month. If we want to strengthen the team, doing it early on in the window means they can get more games in, and prices don't get ratcheted up so much at the last minute.
Or is it that they like the glorious failures to show the fans they really do mean business, but without actually having to fork out any money?
So what about the 4 early ones even though one has aleeady gone back

Two deals for potential signings were still being worked on until less than an hour before the deadline, however no agreements could be reached in time.
The Addicks are one of just two sides in the Championship who remain unbeaten in the last two matches and, with the loan window opening shortly, there will be opportunities to add to the current playing squad before the next full moon
“We have made a very good start to the new season, especially considering how many new players we have in the side,” said CEO Katrien Meire.
“There were discussions over potential additions to the squad before the end of the window and we began negotiations with clubs over a couple of players.
“They have to be the right players and personalities, who we think will add to our current group and are affordable in the context of the club’s commitment to adhering to financial fair play regulations.
“We are happy with our current squad and we did not just want to bring in players because of the pressure of the looming deadline.
“Also, with a number of promising young players at the club, we are keen to aid their development and continue to show there will always be a pathway to the first team for the most talented youngsters at Charlton.
“As always, we will continue to assess the playing squad over the coming weeks and months and remain determined that we have a group capable of competing in the Championship.” As always, we will continue to assess the playing squad over the coming weeks and months

No, it doesn't work sorry.
If we sign him, it will be the best signing we have made under RD, I honestly believe that.
But lets be honest, it wont happen.

Lots of love customers
Despicable meire
Also, going on what is written here, Duelund sounds like he'd be a very good fit.
