    I can see them thinking London Lions sounds regal and powerful.

    KM said in her Dublin interview that the club had to be rebranded. I've got no idea whether there is anything in this rumour, but to say they wouldn't do it because it's too ridiculous a plan, well frankly anything is possible with this board.

    I think a merger with Millwall or Palace would be a better idea.

    It's the same guy who warned that regardless of Sunday's statement, that the club were going to go after the fans - then a couple of hours later the infamous Roland Rant of #rantgate appeared.

    Doesn't mean he is right on this one though, but having seen the Dublin debacle a rebrand might be an idea that Katrien has had as could fit in to some of that unique proposition and growing revenue stream shite.

    An ex-employee, who managed to predict a complete U-turn in the clubs communications within the last week? That does lend some credibility to the guys claims, but I sincerely hope that even Katrien and Tony The Testicle aren't this moronic.

    If this did happen, I don't think anyone could continue supporting the regime.

    If there is real confirmation that RD and KM have consulted on a name change, I predict a riot.

    CARD will not be able to restrain the young fighters or the older fighters who have been holding off.

    It could be just the sort of clusterfuck disaster the regime need to break the coalition.

    Unfortunately, given the levels of arrogance displayed by RD and KM, it is believable that they could try but they will not succeed in either changing the club name or in retaining ownership of the club for very long (I hope this period is months and not years)

    A name change on the back of a re-branding (a favourite marketing trick much beloved of the young suits - think Norwich Union which became Aviva etc) is just the kind of thing that would attract Nightmeire because it would fit with her not-so-hidden agenda of erasing the old history of the club and starting afresh with a year-zero approach - a new history, a new fan-base (with no attachment to the name Charlton) and a customer base willing to accept player-farming and limited ambition.

    As ever, if any thought has been given to incorporating London into the name that is a non-starter. Someone I think explored it (possibly at West Ham) and it will not be sanctioned by the FA. As Henry Irving has pointed out Hull City have failed to get Tigers added to their name and I don't think a simple business case on the lines of we want to rid ourselves of our existing emotionally attached customers and start again with a more compliant bunch would pass muster at the Football League - but as for all other crackpot ideas then yes - I guess they are already in the planning stage or are being mooted (we had an early glimpse of the marketing team spinning out of control with the sex-on-the-pitch video).
    The Cardiff City owner once 'employed' an exchange student mate of his son to a senior position at the club only to find out he didn't have a work permit. With the experienced and long term staff at the club dropping like flies expect more of this kind of thing at Charlton and the Mel Baroni incident shows that anyone with proper career aspirations will avoid this club like the plague.

    It's going to get worse isn't it?

    A bit like that Austrian club that is now Red Ball something, only we would have go a smudge down market. Maybe FC Panda Cola.

    I'm guessing (ie too lazy to look it up) that the Wimbledon to MK Dons name change was only sanctioned because of the move to MK?

    I can imagine Squirrel Face trying to maket an all-in package for the tourists: boat up the Thames, Cutty Sark, Greenwich Park then on for a matchday experience to see the PL stars of the future.

    Has she spent time in the US? She certainly seems to see football as a brand and ignores the traditional reasons why supporters come along.

    A bit complicated the lyrics to Delilah but I've given them a go:

    I saw the light on the night that I passed by the Valley;
    I saw the flickering shadows of love In my heart as I passed by my home;
    Run by the idiots;
    They deceived me, I watched and went out of my mind.

    My, my, my, home Charlton;
    Why, why, why, my Charlton;
    I could see the owner was no good for me
    But I was lost like a slave that no man could free;

    At break of day, I was waiting;
    I cross the street to his house and he opened the door;
    He stood there laughing;
    I felt the knife in my hand and he laughed no more;

    My, my, my Home Charlton;
    Why, why, why, my Charlton;
    So before they come to break down the door;
    Forgive me my Charlton I just couldn't take any more.

    When I read this I thought no they wouldn't be THAT daft, but then they did appoint Karel Fraeye......and they did tell us that every managerial appointment has been progress......
    ......and we are one of Roland's children....
    So they have probably thought about it then.....
