As long as rent a mob don't come back like the Boro game ..... They were causing issues with Charlton fans and forcing families with kids to move seats through there behaviour , fans won't tolerate that and should be allowed to enjoy the game without being hounded out there seats by mindless idiots ....
Hope Card sends that message out mainly behind the goal .....

I was in North Lower at Boro game with my 10 year old son and his mate and as always you speak absolute nonsense, no-one was hounded out and there was no rent a mob....ridiculous thing to say.
So who were the West Ham , Millwall and Chelsea fans then , did they get lost on the way to there own games
Think I would have noticed that. What do you get out of spouting this nonsense?

    I reckon he gets wages...

  • Will there be a noon announcement?

    Really looking forward to this!

For those who can't get there, will anyone be covering the march on periscope?

Yeah, I'll be navigating my submarine up the Thames on Saturday morning
    tee-hee! Luddite makes technophobe joke!
  • Don't need to be a Luddite to use capital letters mate. If you meant Periscope, should have said so ;).

Would consider a Luddite protest smashing up the automated ticket machines though. Only problem is if I go to watch home games at all next season if be relying on them to scan in my home printed tickets

They must have for very lost, considering they all played on the Saturday and Boro was a Sunday.
I also like the fact that West Ham & Millwall fans (and Chelsea and West Ham) all came together, spent £30 each on tickets to The Valley... just to abuse random families.

And there were no witnesses, other than Colin.
Hmmmm maybe it wasn't so random..... Colin is probably on their sites as well.....
  • The idea that any thought other than 'need another bottle of milk/hit from the troll pipe' goes into Colin's posts is a bit much for me to deal with.

  • Wibble.

Nope, wasn't me. I wasn't even there, I was watching it on the telly.
  • Best wishes from down under for today's protests.

Thought, a repost of the first post / statement would be helpful as it appears to have been sidetracked by what I don't know. (I have put it under my comment)

The march is a brilliant idea. I am looking forward to it. The funeral march for death of the club felt very powerful, to be part of. I am expecting this march to be every bit as strong. Brilliant Brighton supporters are joining as well. You are all very welcome to show support. I would urge all Charlton supporters not in agreement with Duchatelet, and the way the club is not being run to attend and show your anger at the way the club has been mismanaged. Its going to be good and a moment as a Charlton supporter, that will always be remembered.

------------ Statement from first page / first post

    http://forum.charltonlife.com/discussion/72776/card-statement-2-brighton-home-game/p1

Following the team’s relegation to League One on Tuesday night, the Coalition Against Roland Duchatelet (CARD) is calling on all Charlton fans who want the owner to sell the club to march to The Valley from Charlton Church Lane at 2.15pm on Saturday.

CARD is planning another massive pre-match protest, along similar lines to the funeral procession before the Middlesbrough game last month, which will assemble outside the Charlton Liberal Club, opposite the junction with Sundorne Road, from 2pm.

This time we will also be joined by supporters of opponents Brighton & Hove Albion*, who are turning out to back CARD in acknowledgement of the contribution Addicks supporters made to their Fans United day at the Goldstone Ground 19 years ago.

But we need a huge turnout to show the extent of anger and the determination among Charlton supporters of all ages to drive Duchatelet, chief executive Katrien Meire and their apologists out of the club - and we’ll be bringing some protest materials along to ensure that it is an appropriate spectacle for the media.

With the team’s fate confirmed, we’re chucking the kitchen sink at the regime this weekend. The march is just the start. CARD is organising further protests during the match, and is also calling for fans to reassemble in the west stand car park at the final whistle - and to make the whole afternoon as uncomfortable as possible for Meire and chairman Richard Murray.

Since Duchatelet hasn’t attended a match since October 21st, 2014, there seems little chance him being there on Saturday. But you never know…

Further details of our plans for Saturday will follow at the end of the week and on the matchday itself, but CARD is planning its biggest show of strength yet and we need every Charlton fan who shares our view to stand alongside us.

We continue to liaise with the Metropolitan Police to ensure the safety of all supporters, and we urge fans to avoid actions that will bring them into conflict with the police, including any xenophobic, racist or sexist chanting or slogans, as well as flares.

We’re also calling in as many CARD volunteers as possible. If you can help from 1pm , please email us on charlton.card@yahoo.co.uk. There’s plenty going on!

(*In February 1997, a significant number of Charlton fans travelled to Sussex to help support Brighton fans in their hour of need. The Fans United protest that day saw supporters travel to the match versus Hartlepool United from all over the country, but few if any of the non-participating clubs were as well represented as the Addicks. The Seagulls were about to lose the Goldstone Ground and no set of fans knew more about being homeless than ours. Since then there has been a special bond between the two groups of fans - and not just because of our mutual disdain for Crystal Palace. On Saturday, we will be Fans United once again.)
  • As a matter of interest (and I've waited a while before saying anything, just to see if these comments would be amended), are you suggesting, Colin1961, that CARD have been bringing or at least encouraging in a "rent a mob" of "mindless idiots" to intimidate Charlton fans? It certainly reads that way to me ... I would recommend, for future reference, a little more thought before posting, to avoid saying something that could come back to bite you. Just a thought.

I am not sure thinking before typing is something that he can ever be accused of.

  • Protest with your backs to the wall comrades

    ; )

Am saddened to see such a comment, but not much surprised. I was pleased to represent the CAS Trust at the first social gathering of The Proud Valiants - Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Addicks - at The Valley, recently. The Football Supporters' Federation had assisted in getting the gathering arranged, Fizz Waller was a most charming club rep and Matt Pennycook MP was a guest. The FSF chap - an Asian, ex-West Ham Utd professional - spoke about his experience of 'casual' racism in the pro dressing rooms and said that the next challenge was to break homophobia at football, be it the deliberately hurtful comment, or 'casual banter'.

One is mindful of the boorish chants that would have it that all Liverpudlians are thieves and on the dole. Doubtless, some are on the dole, and doubtless some Brighton fans are gay - and some of them are men. The latter is true, I should think, for every club in the land, CAFC included - as evidenced by a fantastic turn-out at The Valley.
I don't wish to slate the OP on this, but do wish to register that 'casual banter', whilst not meant to offend, can offend...so it's probably best to say, write, or chant now't. Enjoy the game.
Just when you think the regime couldn't get any lower, they allow The Valley to be used by a disgusting group like Proud Valliants.
Proud Valliants took great delight in participating in London Pride, that quite openly discriminated and made libellous allegations against UKIP and its members.

Proud valliants and its supporters need to look at there own actions before they get all uppity about lame message board jokes.

I call on Anna kissed to apologise for the actions of proud valliants.
