Surprised about that. Wanted to dislike him, but grudgingly have to admit that he was decent at his job. Gave good coverage to us last season and as a pundit and presenter he was streets ahead of Robbie Savage on the other side.
There is an awful lot about him as a person I don't like
He does understand and get football though. Granted he absolutely took the piss out of clubs as a player so perhaps when he goes off on one about mercenary footballers and clubs and fans and owners we should forgive and forget.
Love him or hate him he was brilliant on talksport. Never held back and was one of the few ex pros to call bullshit on the whole "I was touched so I was entitled to go down" rubbish.
With Talksport being the Soap box radio station, (soapboxstan) Stan the man fitted the role and opined his views. He gave it 100%, whether you agreed or disagreed with his words.
Collymore the woman beater is a different beast and that Tag can't be taken off after a few years; it will be with him until he takes his last breath.
Used to tweet things like: "I guarantee when Murdoch dies, Britain will change for the better." So not really surprised that News Corp didn't keep him on.

But it's the BBC who are media puppets, haven't you heard? The world would be much better if only power mad billionaires controlled what you were told...
Have to say that for all his faults he was and is passionate and entertaining when it comes to talking about football. Went on a bit on occasions but then don't we all!

Had he been slagging off the Sun/Murdoch as has been suggested?
Say what you really mean, please.
They did offer him a new one but Murdoch (News Corp.) has since bought the station and the offer has been withdrawn.

Good to see someone sticking to their morals in such a fashion.
