Possible Scam advice please: The wife had a successful PPI claim 5 years ago. She had a phone call today from Tax Reclaim Solutions Ltd who knew all about her claim and are now saying that she can claim back the tax paid on those payments. They’ve sent her what look like a HMRC official form authorising them to have access to her tax records if she signs the form using ‘Dropbox’. They take 33% + vat PLUS £50 for all tax years the claim relates to. Her successful PPI claim was for £4250 but she only received £1700 so that company took 60%. This appears not to be the same company so it begs the question how they know so much about her original claim. I’ve Googled this company and they have 1 director, John Briggs. Does anyone have any experience of this or heard of this type of claim. I’m thinking that it’s not worth the risk for, potentially, very little return anyway. Thoughts, kind people ITK?

They will doubtless charge a large fee. Get her to reclaim herself if possible.
And to those who don't hold the maximum or maybe didn't;t win, this month one of the £1m winners has a total holding of £5,050, the winning bond was bought in 2000 and was £50. There's always the hope!
Zilch for me, the wife or jnr this month I see they have introduced a short follow on to the ‘No luck this month’ message encouraging you not to cash in as there is always next month. Higher interest rates on offer on savings obviously taking a toll.
In my 30 years experience I have found that if you are in a good final salary pension then you should have sufficient enough income to live comfortably.
Certainly all the Doctors I know who retire on c£40k-£50k pa have excess income every month......and thats before they get the State Pension.
I generally find that c£20k annual pension (before the State one) should be adequate enough to live on. Should you want 3 holidays a year then you'll probably need more. But I find most peoples day-to-day expenditure is usually no more than £1k pm. Add in holiday spending money, season tickets & take always then £1500pm is usually well ok.
A lot of people wont have anywhere near this, but I do find many people over estimate how much they do need in retirement & I'm often saying to clients to retire earlier than they plan and to not work until they drop just because they fear not having enough money in retirement.
More savings if you live in a London Borough with the 60+ Oyster card Free transport in London. A third of rail fares. My journey to Heathrow is free on the Elizabeth line.
And free prescriptions!
Guessing you meant 'a third off rail fares' (assuming this refers to trains outside of London) is this actually correct? I've had a quick look and can't see any mention of it.
Elizabeth line back from Heathrow is very handy, pity Gatwick is just outside the zone but you only have to buy a ticket from/to East Croydon.

thanks

EDIT, just £50 for Father in Law.
Cashed them all in to buy this property....😥.
The best month I’ve ever had on the PBs.
£500 get in.
Will be cashing the money out to buy a house. Have made £600 over the 6 draws.
