I'm sure all his mates bought into the markets and sold their oil holdings (Baron *cough) just before his Truth Social post.

The Iranian take is that he's just backed down after they called his bluff!

I was listening to Ted Cruz speak and I'm not overly familiar with him other than having heard his name. He did the opposite if he was trying to reassure me about what Trump and whoever he has around him are up to. The don't seem to care if they lose the mid-terms over this and I really can't piece together what their end goal is.

I could easily throttle these people

  • Iranians haven't confirmed any talks. Trump presumably could just be lying again...

Cor I wonder why that happened

At around 6:50 a.m. in New York, S&P 500 e-Mini futures trading on the CME recorded a sharp and isolated jump in volume.

A similar pattern was observed in oil markets.

Roughly 15 minutes later, at 7:05 a.m., Trump sent a market-moving announcement about Iran on Truth Social.

I see the article says that the SEC refused to comment.

I just bloody well hope that they are on the case & that Trump is taken to task about it.

Nixon got impeached for lying about covering up a nondescript break-in (amongst other things). Time for the US to stand up & hound Trump out of office.

The longer Trump and Netanyahu remain in charge the longer this chaos will continue. Trump's pronouncements sound increasingly deranged...
I guess the good news is there’s an election due imminently in Israel, the bad news is that there isn’t one to the US presidency for another 3 years
There are mid terms coming up which should go against him and help the markets.

We're pretty f***ed if the US President is so happy to manipulate the markets along with his cronies. It's beyond shocking...

Much smaller scale but there is serious insider trading going on in the betting markets over minor stuff like length of white house press conferences. On historic data there is basically a 98% chance these will last over 65 minutes. Except this week there was a massive amount of unusual betting activity a large amount of which was betting it would be less than 65 mins.

Lo and behold Caroline Levitt stopping mid sentence and walking off stage at exactly 64 mins.

Most corruption administration in history? Globally even?

I don’t think he is in anyway bothered about the mid terms he isn’t planning on going anywhere!!

And it’s genuine? No context for stopping to talk? She doesn’t after all usually get word shy.

He could lose Congress (the Senate is less likely) which will reduce what he can do. Should boost the markets.

To be honest IF that is an accurate transcription it’s not exactly mid sentence / an odd place to stop. So maybe not quite as blunt as suggested.

I haven’t seen it reported elsewhere so hard to judge.

Regardless market manipulation generally does seem more of a hard one to deny.

Be interesting to see if this story gets any traction.

  • Democracy seems to be being dismantled in the US at an alarming rate. I'm not clear what is going to stop the process.

NS&I boss replaced as savers left waiting for millions of pounds

I was mulling over taking out half my Premium Bonds and buying 10 year gilts. I think this just firmed up my decision. That'll learn 'em.

Have recently dealt with them with my brother passing away. I have to say I had no real problems with them. The only issue was they sent out 3 cheques (unclaimed prises) in 3 envelopes, one arrived in 2 days, one in 2 weeks and the other in 2 months. I had already received a replacement for the last one, that problem was solely with Royal Mail.

But the problem hasn’t been people being able to access their funds it’s when relatives are trying to access a deceased persons funds. If you have their NS&I details, ie account number etc, it’s not been an issue but when you don’t and you are asking them to trace funds of A. Person then the system hasn’t been robust enough to track down multiple accounts for that person plus people move without advising NS&I which complicates matters. It’s distressing for relatives at what is already a difficult time for them but this problem is applicable for less than 2% of NS&I accounts.

For has surprised me is that NS&I are not regulated by the FCA.

It is. Here is how Perplexity answered my question, it includes a link to a video of the entire prezzer, it will tell you where to pick up if you don't want to watch that complete cow for an hour.

She  certainly leaves in an unseemly hurry but she could just have recalled she's got something more important like an appointment with her cosmetic surgeon.

NS&I are bascally the Government. If they go bust then your PB's are the least of your problems 😂
