Chris hasnt just won the Vuelta but by finishing in 11th today has also won the Points Jersey.
Its crazy because surely the Madrid final stage is akin to the Champs Elysee so Froome surely has no business finishing that high on a Sprint stage...
This win though has to put him on a level with the likes of Andy Murray as one of our greatest Sportsmen... Huge achievement to do what he's done by winning two Grand Tours in a single year, its even worse the fact he's come close to doing it three times!!

Great chance. Especially since Valverde and Quintana hate each other and can't work together to save their lives and neither is strong enough to beat him on their own.
Main worry is that he's always got a Jour Sans in him, so there's always the chance he could end up shelling 30 minutes on a stage. Have to say Jack Haig has been absolutely immense in support of him
As someone who would normally class himself as a Sky fan, I've got to say how much I'm enjoying the fact that they aren't in the running. The Mitchelton Scott, Movistar, Lotto Jumbo mix up is far more interesting. Come on Yates!
Welcome to the darkside Stig! A lot of people think the Sky hate from people who don't like them is because of the (frankly nonsense) drug allegations and just sour grapes in general. In reality, it's more to do with the fact they throttle the life out of races and just pummel other teams into submission. Having a budget pretty much twice what most other teams have allows them to pay riders who would be bona fide grand tour contenders elsewhere just to be domestiques. What you're seeing now is how racing COULD be if Sky didn't monopolise all the best talent.

Nairo still can't win a GT though...
Didn't he win this race in 2016 and the Giro in 2014 though ?

going along with the anti sky sentiment, (though i cant argue against what they have done for British cycling) it is a great achievement that Yates has done it at an Australian team. one that doesn't have the same resources. no critic could ever say the only reason any British rider is wining grand tours is because of Skys financial might.
For all things related to the last Grand Tour of the season. Opened with the usual Vuelta disaster on the first day. Apparently a garden hose detatched from the tap, with water cascading onto the road.

Great achievement. Would like to see him go for a giro.
Tom Dumoulin won Gold with Roglic getting Silver...
Great finish by Froome.
Can Yatesy do it, or will he blow up like he did in the last week of the Giro?
I think he will do it.
been a good race so far. no one team able to dominate the peloton.
