United have just been so poor this season and the goals they concede are consistently their own doing, like the three against Bournemouth.

New guy in charge for Liverpool away on 22 November. And we'll most probably be back here again same time next year having the same conversation about the next incumbent.
The success he brought to Bournemouth with their style of play, he did not do badly at Newcastle. He has certainly got better credentials than a lot of managers.Three promotions with Bournemouth and winning the cup with Newcastle is not to be sneezed at.So you would not have him at Charlton then?
Would you want Howe at Charlton if Jones got sacked next week?0 -
It’s one of the stupidest questions ever asked on this website. Obviously I’d have him at Charlton, but what on earth has that got to do with his suitability for Man United?ElfsborgAddick said:

They made a loss of 40m (60m in today’s money) the season they went up and were fined for breaking FFP rules - cumulative losses for all championship teams that season was 183m.Addick Addict said:
I've been openly a massive fan of Howe but, notwithstanding my bias, I cannot see that your assertion is correct. Bournemouth were promoted, as champions, from the Championship in 2014-15. They bought seven players the previous summer for total of barely £4m including Callum Wilson (£3m) and Andrew Surman (£564k). It was only once they were promoted that, in the summer of 2015, they spent £55m on a dozen or so players.arny23394 said:

The success he brought to Bournemouth with their style of play, he did not do badly at Newcastle. He has certainly got better credentials than a lot of managers.
It's also well documented that during his short time at Burnley he lost his mother after a short illness who he was extremely close to. He openly admits that the sudden loss and the intense demands of football management made it difficult to grieve properly. Howe is someone who cannot do a job unless he it totally committed to it. This is what Shay Given recently said about him:"Speaking to people up there, he’s a workaholic. He was in at six o’clock every morning, leaving at eight or nine at night, seven days a week. He was all in.
“I’m sure he’s missed out on a lot of quality time with this family and fans don’t see that side of the game. Everyone just thinks he’s another well-paid Premier League manager and he’s got the best of everything but it all comes at a cost."
Howe took Bournemouth from League to the PL. He did that by signing players he thought would fit his vision, mostly for a relative pittance. This is just some of them:
Steve Cook - signed when Bournemouth were in League 1 for £150k, he went on to play almost 400 games for the Club
Simon Francis - totally bereft of confidence when he played for us, he was initially signed on loan and then permanently on a free. Ended up being a fixture for some nine years including 138 appearances in the PL
Harry Arter - another of our "rejects" he was signed from Woking on a free and would make 250 appearances for Bournemouth including three seasons in the PL
Charlie Daniels - signed for £200k, yet another who would progress from League 1 to the PL where he would make 135 appearances in the top flight
Marc Pugh - signed for £100k, he would play over 300 times for Bournemouth including three seasons in the PL
Adam Smith - after just one sub appearance for Spurs and numerous loans, he was signed for an undisclosed fee some 12 years ago and is still going strong with almost 400 appearances for the Club to his name
Callum Wilson - signed him for £3m from League 1 Coventry and was sold six years later for £20m
Matt Richie - signed from Swindon for £400k in the 2013, he was sold three years later for £12m
Junior Stanilas - following a purchase of £1.2m by Burnley from Southend, he was signed on a free by Bournemouth and went on to spend nine years at the Club
At Newcastle Howe converted Joelinton from a forward to a midfielder and the likes of Hall, Livramento, Schar and Barnes all improved as footballers under him. Newcastle also won their first trophy for 56 years under him but they have also suffered from having to sell the likes of Anderson, Tonali, Guimaraes, Isak, Minteh and Gordon - all for a decent profit.
As I've said previously, Howe has been at his most successful when he has been allowed to be the decision maker concerning matters both on and off the field. I'm not sure that United would afford him that freedom. Eight managers in 13 years since Fergie retired suggests that the Board thirst for success is "yesterday" and not "tomorrow".2
