Nathan Jones is expecting a fine to be issued after he played eight youngsters in last night's game - against West Brom U21s. A game which Luton U21s won 2-0.
So... I thought it was a good step towards putting up two fingers to the FL, the silly competition and it's silly rules. More clubs need to do the same. :-)
Expect the league would throw a fit, but clubs might as well host these matches at non-league grounds, they must be losing a fortune on opening up empty grounds.
Good on him. Stupid rules in a stupid competition.
I remember when Mick McCarthy made 10 changes for a Wolves game against Man United and got fined by the Premier League. His response: what's the point of me having a squad if I'm not allowed to use them.
Surely Luton should be commended for their Youth Team rather than given a fine.
Their kids have just beaten kids who are in a Cat.1 Academy (So should be breaking through into the First-Team in the Premier League) yet cant even beat kids who are unable to break into a League Two side!!
Bradford subbed their keeper off after 45 seconds, showing what a joke the rules are and what clubs actually think of them.
Surely clubs should play whatever team they want, the incentive not to do so is that they will not win the competition and get prize money. If both clubs are colluding then yeah that's cheating but if one club wants to weaken their squad because they have a more important game coming up then look at fixture congestion or why that club is under-resourced.
Know its a weird thread to resurrect but didnt want to start a new one about him
A club at this level (or Charlton if Robinson goes) need to be looking @ Nathan Jones... THIRD time this season they've scored seven goals in a match today!!
Crazy as seems to happen in a blue moon but they're almost doing it once a month so far; huge credit to him as a Manager!!

Doing a great job there, if Luton can ever get their new ground built, you can see them challenging at a much higher level

I think that Nathan Jones should absolutely be our next manager, even if Robinson has been doing a good job for a while.

Other than my feeble 'he's been gone too long' post, what is the point here?
Oh, we could do the same; hello Jason and Slade.

This includes the "Sun" picking the England team, the FA picking cup teams and Roland picking anything other than his nose.

"He didn't have a particularly good first 45 seconds," Bradford assistant manager Kenny Black joked to BBC Radio Leeds.
"The rules are there, we'd have loved to have played some more young kids but have first-team guys that need games. We adhere to the rules".
And then he put on his U23 keeper.
Brilliant! Absolutely taking the piss out of ridiculous rules.
